You may be right that they "were" considering and changed their mind due to quick responses from those who object.

Reading these accounts leaves me a long way from apologizing for inaccurate accusations.
I'm not here to battle but I personally made an accusation because I sent an email. Extending a little courtesy even if they DID reconsider, I doubt will do any harm.

+1. Every communication in these sorts of situations is important. We can certainly set a tone with the nature of our letters and e-mails.

My email to them got a reply:

Sounds good to me. Not sure what is meant by 'landlord', but this, if accurate, is as good as it gets, ISTM.
That's easy Belk's at least in VA aren't stand alone stores. Usually part of a MALL complex.
The Mall is the LANDLORD, but they usually don't make rules for conduct /items inside their tenants stores.

Marco,

That is correct.

If there is direct access to any store and the Mall area it will likely be the decision of the Mall to make the policy. Where we have to be careful is when there is a store we frequent and they have outside access AND Mall access we need to watch for signs issued by the Mall/landlord and applied to adjoining stores.

If one uses the direct access from the parking lot entrance, then only the stores rules apply in their store, not the mall rules.

Chesterfield Towne Center is anti with No Guns signage. I OC regularly in Sears and American Eagle Outfitters there, who both have exterior entrances, but do not venture into the mall proper.
