If I'm reading this chart correctly....Last action was Senate President signed the bill 02-28. How long between that signing and presenting it to the governor? There should be something saying it was "officially presented" on "this date"...yes?

FYI

As of 2/28/11 The governor has not vetoed a single bill during this legislative session. 78 bills have become law.

It is not reasonable to think the governor will veto SF 47. The legislature is 84% Republican, as is the governor.

If he does not sign or veto by Thursday, it will become law without his signature.

I would not take anything for granted...The police are lobbying heavily!!!

No, never would and never will.

Why???

And don't worry about all the "residence" requirements, etc. If you are not a jerk and not causing problems, nobody is ever going to know or care. It's not like anyone stops us on the street and demands to see proof of residence.

Now, in the exceedingly rare situation where you needed to actually use a gun, you might have to deal with that - but this is not Chicago or New York, remember. It's not going to be that big a deal.

Easy for you to say and tell somebody to break the law and not to worry about it. You are not the one going to jail if caught. Who is to say what the cop does when questioned and if you do not have a WY drivers license then what.

What is not a big deal to you is to the person breaking the law on your advice.

If I understand the process correctly, When both the senate president and the speaker of the house sign the bill, that means it is presented to the governor. The next thing you would see if it becomes law is that it will be given a chapter number in the form of CH00XX. The senate president signed the bill on 2-25 and the speaker on 2-28. That gives the governor 3 days to sign, not sign, or veto. With the session likely to end on Friday, it might be a problem getting the bill back through both houses on an override in case of veto. If the governor vetoes, it will be well remembered by 2A people when he wants to run again whether it is overridden or not. I think he knows that.

The rumor is that the governor was to sign at 1:30 today. I haven't yet heard that it has happened, and I don't see it indicated on the legislative website.

But, hopefully, it's true.

Confirmed. The legislative website now shows this bill with a chapter number, and a date of March 2 as the governor's signature.

It takes effect July 1, 2011

I don't know about that; the Wall Street Journal had a page 3 article on Texas' bill to allow concealed carry on college campuses, for instance.

Texas ain't Wyoming. Arizona has a bill in the Legislature right now for concealed campus carry... all but passed. 'Did they print that?

Congrats from PRK!

Hello All,

Liberty loving individuals from the People's Republic of Kalifornia are very happy for your victory!

Winning elections has consequences.

The consequences of Kalifornians losing the last election is huge. We will probably lose UOC this year. We don't have "shall issue."

I wish I could CC next summer when I visit your freedom-loving state; we are visiting for recreational purposes. We will be content to OC--which is more than we can do in Kalifornia right now.

Thanks for being a ray of hope for those of us who are less fortunate.

Congratulations Wyoming

Congratulations to all Freedom Loving Law Abiding Wyoming Citizens. This is GREAT NEWS. It proves that the folks in the Wyoming legislature are trend setters and not trend followers.

Gun Law is evolving from "may issue" to "shall issue" to "Constitutional Carry". Now, if you can just get rid of that pesky little Wyoming resident for 6 months provision. (I will have to keep my Utah permit handy when visiting Wyoming I guess.)

One more time - CONGRATULATIONS
