I frequently travel from GA to Fl. Usuually I have a pistol in the car under the seat in a lock box and holstered. I also have a Georgia Weapons License.
is there any issues with that scenario ? I've read as much as I can and it appears that no matter what, having the pistol secured, you are good-to-go ?

thanks

good to go....for what?

sorry the only issue i can see is if you need your firearm for SD, are you going reach under the seat, struggle to get the box out and then throw the lock box with the 'holstered' pistol inside at the BG??

if you wish to carry, FL IS STILL NOT OC FRIENDLY!!! so you must conceal

If the way you carry is how the Law appears to you,,, then you Need to Study what the Laws Really ARE!!

You have a georgia carry license and florida honors that license..
Soooo If I was you ,, I would conceal carry in both states instead of locking it in a box!

I do the opposite (go to GA a lot, but live in FL), so I am familiar with the laws of both States.

Your permit is honored in Floriduh. Basically, you can do all the same things you do in Georgia, except OC or allow it to print. There is no Printing Statute, so I can't cite it. It was legislated from the bench, and it's a Felony. A crooked liberal Judge determined that Printing is OCing, so same way-over-the-top punishment for doing something that is supposedly a right applies to both Printing and OCing.

If your GA permit expires, and you don't get any others honored by Floriduh (you could do this even if you had no permit):

Handguns may be carried in the vehicle, loaded, only if they are contained inside of something that has to have a cover removed, such that it is not immediately ready for use. Glove box. Center Console. Wrapped in a plastic bag, stuffed in the hole where the radio used to be. Gladware. Lock box. Whatever. If the Tupperware is transparent, it might be considered OC by dirty pigs. Floriduh has a lot of dirty pigs... They are the overwhelming majority.

Long guns need no container. It can be sitting on the seat next to you. Laying on the back seat. Yes, laoded. Whatever. This might be considered OC by dirty pigs, tho. Floriduh has a lot of dirty pigs... They are the overwhelming majority.

Citations provided upon request, because there are a lot of them and I don't feel like it right now...

Never consent to searches. They'll probably do it anyway and lose the dashcam footage or mute the audio where you refused. SOP. Roll your own or stand at the mercy of whatever lies they tell in the report. Yes, they will do it.
