NRA chief executive Wayne LaPierre spoke with Trump on Tuesday after the president expressed support for a background check bill and told him it would not be popular among Trump's supporters, according to officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to freely discuss internal talks. LaPierre also argued against the bill's merits, the officials said.
Let’s see, for whom will I vote next?

(Grammar hint; He:who / Him:whom)

Doug, it doesn't matter WHO runs. With all his faults, DJT is an immeasurably better choice than any democrat. Even if the RNC were to try and get another candidate to run against Trump, the likelihood of them being a RINO and/or "swamp dweller" is too high to allow the RINOs to unseat Trump.
NOW, if they could find a "pro-Constitution" candidate, that might make a difference. The problem is that it is extremely unlikely that such a candidate could win the general election.
