There's quite a few people down in the Ashland/Medford area. Like grapeshot said, pick a time and place and people will tend to show up.

Spent 8 hours in Medford yesterday, Powells book on Biddle, a coffee shop downtown, my Union hall, and a couple other places. Nada, not even funny looks. And spent 4 hours walking from SOU to downtown Ashland for coffee, Lithia Park, and Rogue Fly Shop. Again nada. Happy to say that Ive spent many an hour in downtown Ashland in the last month and a half and outside of a couple double takes and lots of friendly people, nothing.

Got kicked out of Valley River Center yesterday. First negative experience since I started open carrying almost a year ago. Had a couple security guys come up to me and my wife at the food court and tell me weapons aren't allowed in the mall. I told them i hadn't seen any signs. They told me it's on a "Code of Conduct" sign at each entrance.

We got up to leave, and these guys shadowed us to the exit. Give me a break. If I were going to do something, there'd be nothing they could do as they are unarmed.

I made sure to inform them that I would not be coming back to a place that requires me to be defenseless. They did imply, however, that the issue is that I was open carrying, and that if it were concealed it wouldn't be an issue since they wouldn't be able to see it, so they wouldn't know anyway.

And I made sure to find the sign. It's there... in VERY small lettering, way off to the side of the entrance. Very hard to read, and equally tough to photograph. The whole sign was about 8 inches tall, and has 14 paragraphs of text that is about 1-2mm tall.

Most mall signs are like that, and what I could read from your pic is "any item that could be used as a weapon" , so how many people carry pepper spray , pocket knife ect...

Any tool/object can become a weapon: pen, pencil, belt, scarf, high heeled shoes, flashlight,.....soap or padlock in a sock.

More attention should be paid to conduct - it is that which creates a threat or not. The "tool" has no life of its own.

Besides which BGs don't OC, they hide them, but I do preach to the choir here.

Yeah, I mentioned that BGs hide their weapons, so an OCer is not a threat. And I wanted to point out that criminals don't abide by such "codes of conduct", so all they're doing is disarming good people, but my wife seemed embarrassed and just wanted to leave and not make a scene.

Open carried at Newport City Hall and inside the Police station while attending the Ceasefire Oregon/N.O.W. illegal gunshow......er "buyback".......

While one Ceasefire type tried to "help me out" by warning me Newport has an open carry ban, she and I were able to have some civil discussions on the topics.

Ceasefire ran out of gift cards a mere 22 minutes into the event and ended up buying a lot of garbage from patriots (who paid far less for the junk than Ceasefire gave them). They were even paying $25 for plain old 30 round AR mags. They got 138 guns and 95 magazines.......and unfortunately a couple of nice firearms and an AR.

However, a good number of firearms were saved including five by myself.

All in all, even with the wind and rain, it was a good day.

So a few weeks ago I went to watch the sb941 hearing in Salem, afterwards I drove out to pacific city via highway 22. Did some shooting in the national forest there,

Open carried in Tillamook at the hardware store and the cheese plant visitor center. Then later at Fort Stevens Park. I was actually dressed in my hiking pants plus a green jacket and carrying my ruger service six in a leather basket weave holster, someone actually thought I was a park ranger.

Open carried in Corvallis yesterday. Had brunch downtown, got some books at the library, developed some photos at Rite-Aid, recycled some batteries. Uneventful like usual.

I assume you have a CHL, since loaded OC is banned there without one?

I'd assume so. While I was there I looked over a list of library rules and it did say no firearms unless otherwise permitted by law (or something similar). In any event, nobody asked despite interacting with three library workers.

Must be "otherwise permitted by law"

I do hate that phrase though as IMO it misleads the public, often is illegal under preemption.

So stupid. Laws don't permit actions; they restrict them. Besides, we already have "permission" under the 2nd Amendment.

Lately

Places I have open carried without any issues in Grants Pass. Walmart, Winco, Fred Meyer, Auto Zone, Napa, Bi-Mart, and I have probably forgotten a place or two. Basically, no problems, yet.
