• We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.

I apologize for the delay in getting this out and there is an explanation in the newsletter as to why.

The latest newsletter is here: http://laopencarry.org/newsletters/newsletter1507.pdf

If you haven't had a look at this months LOCAL Newsletter please take a couple of minutes to look at the fine work Speedy put into this month's issue.

The usual columns are there including meetings, upcoming gun shows and more.
Also there are plenty of training opportunities listed as well as the reason why the June Newsletter was lacking the usual training columns.
Also we publish the story of a LOCAL member who recently won a large settlement against a La police department and officers after he was illegally arrested while open carrying in a Wal-Mart.
Also in the July issue read about some pro-gun bills that made it through this last legislative session, how St Tammany Parish tried and failed to pass gun control and how the City of Abbeville succeeded in passing gun control ordinances.

The LOCAL Newsletter is published once a month and the official publication of the Louisiana Open Carry Awareness League.
Every month we tell you about our efforts to educate the public about their gun rights, discuss laws that affect your right to carry and point you to firearms trainers who can teach you everything from First Aid and beginner level pistol use to advanced rifle and carbine operations.
Louisiana Open Carry Awareness League (LOCAL) is a grassroots, non-profit gun rights organization dedicated to educating the public about the right to bear arms. More at laopencarry.org
