I am new to the forum so bear with me. I was a post certified police officer in New Orleans. I once was cleaning my gum, and I counted 3 times how many bullets I had taken out. After I was certain that I had taken 6 bullets out I pointed the gun toward the windshield of the police car. The something remarkable happened It was if something took my hand and pointed the gun toward the side door of the vehicle. When I pulled the trigger the gun fired, and I was devastated. My cousin was working a a Pizza Hut, and there was police officer working a detail there. The officer; who was certain that he had removed all he bullets, began to show my cousin some tricks he had learned with guns. The officer then pointed the gun toward himself and pulled the trigger; he was killed instantly. My point is even trained police officers can make mistakes with guns, so I know that guns should not be in the hands of everybody, because guns have the propensity to end the lives of people; even those that are trained. This is the reason why I Can't understand the fascination with guns
Welcome to the forum - take a seat and learn.

Your stories are interesting, but not confirmed/cited.

Private citizens generally are safer with guns, have less collaterial damage, and shoot more accurately than do LEOs. There are a multitude of reasons for this. I'll let you do the research, it'll be good for you.

Guns don't end lives of people....people do. Did a fork make Rosie McDonald fat?

BTW - fascination with guns.....really? I have a fascination with living safely and with a minimum amount of government interference.

I certainly hope you advocate firearms safety in public schools. That, along with simple counting lessons, saves lives, almost as many lives as are saved by victims having the means to protect themselves when a non-idiot cop isn't around.

I'm sure you are even more active in trashing the "fascination" with swimming pools and motor vehicles, which cause far more tragedies with far fewer life-savings to go with them.

I will be most interested in your reply, as you can imagine we get more than our share of drive-by trolls who think they are stirring the pot, to never return.

Bloomberg mommies trying to shake it up.
Notes HEB anti to Kroger's benefit.
Wal-mart stores w beer/wine sales get senior manager to ask OCer for 'papers' - looks like retailers don't want to forfeit their TABC beer/wine license - don't know if this is a proper interpretation or not. Seems like it is overkill with Abbott/Paxton in charge.

A magazine removes all the bullets except the one in the chamber. No need to count. There is a slide lock that will hold the slide open for visual inspection to ensure the chamber is cleared. Revolvers have a cylinder that opens up allowing for visual inspection of each chamber.

I'd say you failed all 4 gun safety rules, pretty sad for a LEO. Where did the bullet go?

With all due respect to the officer, I think we're all better off for the loss.

Thanks for the laugh.

Do not let the drive-by hijack this thread. I gave him the benefit of the doubt once - not liable to happen again.

Back on topic please.

Not sure where it was last left off... Other than when a cop can stop you, under any circumstances.

There was a comment about police having no legal right to do so, but do anyway, because the victim does not want to sue or doesn't have the evidence to do so.

I really would like a pair of sunglasses with a decent camera. But I settle for a little clip on camera that I can put on a hat.

If they stop you without cause, always try to record, if possible. Have it out before hand or already on, preferably.
Don't forget to subpoena police dash cams or body cams and any records they have of the incident.

If you charged with something, just fight it, or go through the motions. I've seen a lot of unjust charges dropped when they know they lack the evidence.
The most common of which is reasonable suspicion. When they do, it makes a suit easier. Just don't drop it, if it's possible.

Just make sure they don't have something they CAN stop you for.
If they do, they have to tell you. Just ask, if it's not obvious. If not, they can't detain you in any way.
Know the difference between a "civilian interaction" and "arrest", in a legal sense.

There's tons of small camera devices available on ebay, mainly from China. I got one of the pen ones but can't seem to get it to work. You put a miniature SD card in it and for all intents and purposes it's a real pen--it just has a tiny pin hole camera lens in the top. Ideal if you have shirt pockets. I'll have to try and get one that works though. :(

many, many threads abound concerning "video devises". do a search, the work has been done, others have helped pave the way. Reap the rewards of those who have gone before you. THAT is what OCDO is about.
