Stephen Bryen is actually correct. Carry in church is not the be all end all of making it safe. As he says in his last sentence-- And guns inside holy places by themselves are not a guarantee of security. It is widely recognized as a major deterrent and substantial factor in casualty reduction efforts.

Cameras, watching closely and armed guards were not sufficient to prevent that church shooting. All are factors, all are good steps, none are by themselves enough. The only thing good enough for that is to lock the door and everyone stay home.

The left, like Pelosi (who claims to be a devout catholic), would love every church padlocked; only mosques will do.

Perhaps we should keep moving around...reduces the likelihood we get hit by a meteor.
Closely related to the probability of being hit by an air-shot; a coincidence in time and space.

Good people ought to be armed as they will, with wits and Guns and THE TRUTH. Back when I was in college it was so simple as Forewarned is forearmed.

I have McGraw-Hill's Handbook of English, second edition, taking up space on my book shelf. I actually use it on occasion. Schools don't teach diagramming of sentences anymore.

I absolutely hated diagramming. I could never make sense of the way it was done. The way some kids are being taught the "new math" currently also has me bamboozled.

If you don't understand dangling participles then you can't diagram. o_O

And new math requires you two understand the difference between a one and a 1.
