I generally carry concealed, but was wearing a coat that, when open, would show the holstered Bersa Firestorm Mini-9. Went to a car dealer, bakery and Specialty Sports--huge assortment of firearms. Numerous people saw the handle of the Bersa, not a word about it. Colorado Springs, as I've said in the past, is the most gun friendly place I've ever lived. My only problem was leaving Specialty Sports without buying that Colt Commander I really liked...or the H&K, or the Sig, or the...:p

I o/c while bicycling. Co Springs is a very gun friendly place. The only time I ever get stopped is when someone wants to talk about gun choices.

Large selection of all types of holsters. They are more expensive than say Sportsmens Warehouse, but have a better selection. Lots of Uncle Mikes, which I prefer, but plenty of leather, too. There is a gun show this weekend at Phil Long's, so that may be a place to look for holsters. Usually have a lot of lightly used ones there.

I don;t think it's a good idea to allow a concealed gun to show intermittently - this gives rational basis for a police stop to check permit and may scare people more thn normal open carry.

Not in Colorado Springs. People are used to OC and a large % of the El Paso county population have CC permits--highest of any large county in the US. Add to that a Sheriff who publicly states he wishes more people would get CCWs and sends a letter of congratulations when you do, and this is the high point of gun culture in the country, imo.

Hey, hows the holster selection at Spec Sports? Never been there, heard the prices were a little high, especially for C&R firearms.

I've seen their Mosin Nagants go from anywhere between $99 and $150, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the differential. Other C&Rs are definitely more expensive than DragonMans, Big5, or online dealers.

Then again, I did pick up a Norinco M213 9mm for $170.

And their holster selection is pretty large, definitely bigger than Sportsmans Warehouse.

Colorado Springs, CO. - OC'd again today with the Glock 23 on right hip at 3 o'clock.Dressed sports/casual. Visited 2 large national retail stores ( clothing & office supply)- didn't raise any eye brows. Not going to mention names of stores on this forum - just a concern not to put somebody on the defensive since this forumpage is getting so much publicity in the press. A parting shot - An unarmed citizen who feels uncomfortable sharing space with another lawfully armed citizen - doesn't have a "right NOT tofeel uncomfortable" -:celebratesince that is a subjective state of mind. The armed citizen however, does have a right to be armed for personal defense.

I actually prefer to OC everywhere(less Denver off course) I go. I do have a CCP, but I don't feel I should have to hide what I feel is my right unless forced to do so. I scan the doors of everywhere I go just to make sure Im not breaking any laws. So far pretty much no where has a label or sign that says I cant. I have been asked once what I do for a living in the last year of OCing. I would assume they were looking for the police officer response. Other than that I have never had any issues.

I was ona trip to Grand Junction this week and I OC there as well. Went to dinner, filled gas, bought soda in a covieniance store and even into Walmart. Even on the way back I OC in every municipality, including Vail, Eagle, and Glenwood Springs.

I'm surprised that some hippyfied snow-bunny lib didn't give you static in Vail. I cringe everytime I spot dreds on a white dude. :quirky
