Anyone have an experience with Rock Island Armory firearms? I saw one in the gun store the other day and it looked decent and the price was good. I see that G&A used one in a test of four .45s and it performed well. Anyone here have any first hand experience with it?

I have one that I carry on a daily basis with about 3000 rounds through it. No complaints on my part except one thing. The beaver tail sucks, but that was easy enough to fix. Got a drop in beaver tail from wilson combat. Now I have no problems. I love mine.

Everything I have read says to break it in with about 500 rds of hard ball and then it will eat any ammo you feed it. Don't know yet, myself, only 50 rds through mine so far.

I bought one on Sat. Only fired 50 rounds through it so far. It had some problems feeding the hardball at first and that has worked out. It won't feed the hollow points though. Guess I just need to keep shooting. What a sad thing that is JUST HAVING to shoot more LOL. As far as feel and accuracy, it is as good as the Colt and the HK I have. Bought a Fobus holster for it and it feels pretty good when carrying. May later buy one in 38 Super also.

Had mine about two years with around a thousand rounds through it. Cept for the Beavertail (or lack thereof) I LOVE it. Mine feeds just fine, no polish or work on the ramp at all. I have a few old HYDRAShoks.. my "house" load...around that it just slipped right downrange without even blinking) Most of the ammo I have put through it is hardball, but more than 200 JHP's without issue. YMMV.

Enjoy.
