Rep Voss has not received enough calls/e mails at his office for for the passage of the bill that would allow us to RKBA in schools. Also other members of the legislature may not think we need to exercise that right or may not have forwarded your e mails to him. It is currently a FELONY to bear arms on school grounds for us. It strips our RTKBA if found guilty. However we have a special class: retired and off duty cops who can carry without any penalty. Me thinks our legislature really doesn't want us to bear arms in schools.

Maybe we need to barrage his e mail with a CC to our reps and senators.

I have looked at tens of thousands of emails to legislators ... rarely have I seen them forward one to another legislator.

Why would you think that they would?

emails usually can have more than one recipient ...

Nik's update

The School Grounds Carry Bill has picked up a LOT of support in the Assembly. RIGHT NOW we need people to call their State Senator.

SO FAR the Senators who have signed on as CO SPONSORS of the bill are:

Richard Gudex (R) Dist. 18
Stephen Nass (R) Dist. 11
Duey Stroebel (R) Dist. 20
Devin LeMahieu (R) Dist. 9
Mary Lazich (R) Dist. 28

If your senator is not on that list, its time to make phone calls!

Don't know your state senator? Use this link:

http://maps.legis.wisconsin.gov/

All of the Republican Senators campaigned touting their "pro-gun" stances. IF A SENATOR IS NOT WILLING to fix the oversight in Wisconsin's concealed carry law to allow CCL holders to carry on school GROUNDS just like the FEDERAL Gun Free School Zone Law already does, THEY ARE NOT PRO-GUN!

Federal law allows CCL holders to carry on school grounds.

Please call your State Senator today and tell them its wrong to have moms, dads, and grandparents at risk of a FELONY if they drive to pick up their kids from school armed. No Senator can campaign as "pro-gun" and turn around and not fix this gap in Wisconsin law. There are almost 300,000 CCL holders in Wisconsin. They have passed a background check, and paid the government tax to legally exercise their 2nd Amendment right to carry. Wisconsin law should not prohibit these law-abiding background-checked individuals from carrying when they pick up kids from school.

Wisconsin Carry is keeping track of legislator's positions on this bill. Please let me know if you get feedback from your legislators.

Carry On,

Nik Clark

One is not bound to call just their representative or senator. The chairman should be providing who to contact of members of the assembly who are on the fence in the matter....so that people can contact members who may actually base their position on what residents of the state want.

Calling or emailing a Rep Voss would be futile. The Speaker's name is Robin J. Vos.

Right, because no one has ever misspelled his name before... an extra "S" would ensure that no correspondence makes its way to his office, right? Even though there are no other last names in the Assembly like his. That would be futile, got it...

Or was it that you just couldn't resist being a spelling Nazi? The urge to correct others must be strong...

Well, any political organization should provide all legislators' email addresses on their website on one page to make it easy for people to contact any/all members. And maybe a text to copy/paste into the body of an email.

Or, better yet, a simple online form to complete wherein the visitor only need put his/her email address & name & address and the addresses of the people that they wish to contact at the general assembly (GA). Antis do this and it is quite effective. I have seen 1000s of emails send to members of my GA that were produced in such a manner. And have an option to email all the members at once.

Laws affect everyone, even people outside of the state ... so their voices must be also considered. WS Carry would do best if they had such an online form .. then when they give testimony they can say that "thousands of people have told you this or that" and you should listen to them.

Just wanted to pipe in and say: always send a snail mail in addition to any emails. A sack full of real mail has a much better impression on legislators than emails.
