I don't know about where you live but here the swat team members do regular police work when they are not doing a SWAT mission. So the officers that are SWAT team members are out writing tickets, arresting people and do all the regular things that police officers do everyday.

Most SWAT teams are made up of LEOs from other parts of their agency. There could be and probably are beat cops on a SWAT team.

+1 Here in Eastern WA we don't have a need for a full time SWAT team. Maybe in SC you do? Or maybe some folks think its like in the movies with a bunch of officers in full time tactical gear waiting for the BG's

The possibilities regarding how the police came to be there really are endless.

No doubt, one more possibility is that after 20 minutes they figured out they were at the wrong apartment, bum intel from the landlord. Good thing they never saw the movie "An Innocent Man".:lol:

In Spokanistan, our SWAT team is made up of patrol officers who do double duty as street cops and SWAT members. It happened to be that the cops who showed up were SWAT members performing their normal cop jobs. They do wear SWAT insignia on their uniforms. It wasn't a full SWAT call out like I believe you are thinking.

OP, get lawyered up and go after them. SPD exists in their own little world and our new Mayor has virtually zero control. Hell, we don't even have a full time Police Chief right now, just an interim chief after he fired the old screw up who was in charge. Methinks its time for a wake-up cal for SPD. I actually find myself wishing the the Sheriff would take over.

I remember almost a year ago (one year ago this Friday), the police saying they shot and killed a man for coming out of his vehicle and waving a gun at police... ALL the reports to news media stated that he came out of the truck with a gun and some even said that they man had fired at police. They KNEW this was not the case and what they thought was a gun, was actually his wallet....and they knew this right after it happened (before media arrived).

Yet, they continued to smear him and try to infer he was a terrorist wanna-be and cop-killer...he was neither. That man was my brother.

Maybe I am just skeptical of anything the police say these days...

My thoughts exactly.... I sense troll, but then again that could be me. Anyone heard anything else? I wish I lived nearby and give my support in any way, unfortunately I am in a pretty OCDO-dry area and would need to traverse many hours. Still, hoping things go as smooth as butter.
