While these place may be legal to OC (in some states) there are just some places where I feel the need to CC instead as it would be more hassle then not to OC. I'm sure even the most avid OCer has that one or two places where they would not OC even though it is perfectly legal to do so. Where are these places and why do you choose not to OC there? Assuming of course you are still CC instead.

I said other because I don't open carry to movie theaters. The only reason for this is because Cinemark has a nationwide firearms ban. I choose to CC instead.

I always CC when I shop at Salvation Army, Goodwill, or our local thrift store, just because I don't want the attention (and as I understand it, Goodwill will ask me to leave if I'm OCing).

I go to the Goodwill here all the time armed and open carrying....nary a word....even when an armored truck driver didn't like it and stomped back to the managers office, not sure if he complained or not but still no word. I have actually handed out some pamphlets and had some good conversations about the right to carry.

Really? Isn't there even one place you need to go to get something that you don't want to have a gun at? Like a hospital, school, doctor's office, road race, etc....

I mean, if you somehow snagged an invite to, say, a state dinner at the White House....you would not go????

Here in NC, with the exception of Churches, Day Care Centers and Banks, all the other venues listed above are statutorily prohibited for ANY carry, due to the "school ban" and the "restaurant ban" (any establishment that sells alcohol for consumption on premise).

Technically, Banks in NC are "OC Only" (CC prohibited) but many banks post "No Guns" signs here...

I did, but I had an elevated position.
Being on a scaffold with a noose around your neck is not "an elevated position."

How did you get that last minute pardon, anyway?

:p

What is wrong with a person who chooses to OC to frequent the examples you provided? As long as it's not prohibited to do so in the persons state of residence, what difference does it make?

I do understand however that hospitals, schools and doctor offices are perfectly safe from violent activity... :quirky

Silly HankT... invites aren't actually required for those anymore =)

As for where I WON'T carry openly, Costco comes to mind. Any place that serves alcohol for on-premises consumption would be illegal to OC to in AZ (CC possible if the location isn't posted.) The local movie theaters alsousually post, so I CC there (bhoth Harkins and AMC. I think this has a lot more to do with where they're located though... Westcor-owned property = blanket prohibition.)

Other than those bits, I'm certainly willing to OC anywhere else that I commonly go to, although I still tend to CC more often than OC.

I picked Bars.

I don't go to bars very often. If it was during the day I would OC. But on a friday night, no.

To many people in a confined space. I wouldn't want some drunk idiotto try and grab my pistol and then get shot for their stupidity.

ETA:
