My mom's brother was a Spitfire pilot.

His RAF watch is my daily timepiece.

Yup. She was a nurse in the British Women's Army Corps and when my grandfather was injured (he was US Army) and had to go to a hospital...she was there. Their wedding picture is of them both in their uniforms. They were married November 1945.
