Now those are just beautiful. Couple questions:
  1. Color: That light brown color is gorgeous, especially with the contrast stitching. Is it, however, too showy for an OC holster? I'm not worried about offending anyone, nor do I wat to fake conceal. I'm just wondering if it would come across as trying to show off. I'm not sure I really care either way, but I figured I'd get opinions.
  2. Retention: I don't feel any particular need for a retention strap, except that the open top version doesn't have a tension screw that can keep the gun secure as the leather breaks in and inevitably softens over time. I'm not a-skeered of a grabber, but if I had to start running for some reason, I wouldn't want the pistol to be at risk of coming loose. The retention version isn't listed as being available for the PPQ, so potentially I'd have to get the open top. Again, I'm not sure I care that much either way, but figured I'd get opinions.

In case anyone remembers that I was looking at Blade-Tech, I did order a paddle and double mag carrier from them. I consider it somewhat less than perfectly honest and forthright that they don't clearly indicate that they have a 6-8 week manufacture time. Yes, I know that's pretty common, but their shopping cart does indicate that certain items are on back-order, which to a reasonable person would suggest that something without that indicator is, in fact, in stock. They claimed, on the phone, that there was text at the top during checkout indicating the lead time, but I didn't see it, so it can't have been particularly apparent. Regardless, they should have that caveat plastered on the product page. Anyway, I actually prefer the JBP, and if I can still cancel my Blade-Tech order, I very well might.

P.S. Props to Nick for pointing me to JBP in the first place. The belt is awesome.

Well, whatever the Blade-Tech site does or doesn't say, I ended up getting the holster and mag carrier today, 16 days after I placed the order. That's pretty darned good for a made-to-order holster! Also, the quality seems excellent. Very happy with the purchase.
