Good evening, I have recently found out that OC is legal in (most) of CO. I am living in Commerce City (for the time being....getting out ASAP), which is in Addams County. It is not in Denver, but is close to it. Being that I have not noticed this area being a no OC area, I am brought to the conclusion that it is legal. What I am curious about is this: has anyone actually done it here? What were your experiences, etc. I am (as you probably were) highly tentative about the prospect of doing this, but also very happy that CO has not yet gone and taken another of my rights away.

Thank you for your time, and your knowledge (in advance)
:)

Welcome co556guy!

I've not had the "pleasure" of OCing in C City yet, but being that it's not Denver County (but really close!), you should be fine. I would definitely review the ordinances and statutes for Adams Co., and Commerce City before venturing out n'about. Be aware of county and city borders, posted areas, etc. It does take a reasonable amount of research and it can be rather draining, but it's achievable and rewarding!

I've been OCing in Douglas Co for a couple of months now, but now that my CCW is about to arrive, I've been kinda laying off. Usually with me, the bottom falls out right before something positive happens. I don't want any hassles with the Sheriffs Dept or locals before my permit resides in my wallet.

Overall, most of the events that you'll read about in the Colorado forum are very positive. Keep an open mind, you're eyes peeled, and be safe.

Welcome to the boards!

I've only OC'ed in Commerce City once so far, that being during a gas stop last fall on the way back from the Stapleton area. It was a single brief stop, but for what it's worth, I had no problems walking in, paying for gas, and heading back out.

I just checked the Commerce City municipal code, and it seems their last gun law was passed in 1993, so there's of course no mention of the updates at the state level in the past few years. It's a moot point for OCing, though, since there's no old laws against it that you would be hassled about. They still have a law on the books from 1969 baring weapons of all and sundry sorts from public parks, but unless they're posted, you're good to go (and you're good to CC even if they're posted).
