I wouldn't carry in either if my life depended on it! Thats Gaye Symington's supporters favorite hangout! No signs posted, but I am 100% sure the PD would be called and a trespass order written. I am sure a custom sign banning carry would be posted within 24 hours. I really despise the 50 something crowd that shops there. They all come from Mass or NJ. Ex-Hippies turned yuppie, turned boomer with mega investment accounts. They drive Subaru's with Scudder, Symington stickers, sip latte, wear "eclectic" clothes and "whimsical" hats, walk around with "perma-smile" like Vermont is just so peachy keen, have more meetings to discuss world issues.... but do NOTHING! They are the FIRST ones at the Barton and Stratton town meetings fighting wind power on the mountains cause it might ruin their Currier and Ives image of Vermont. They are so liberal and pro-environment, but they buy HUGE 5BR Vinyl sided homes on Spear St!They are BIGGER hypocrites than the religious zealots who love Buch and Cheney so much. At least the right zealots are up front about who they are! These people don't understand that the rest of Vermont is LIBERTARIAN/INDEPENDENT, socially liberal, but fiscally and Constitutionally CONSERVATIVE!. That's why Jim is still in... To act as a buffer against the Gaye Symington's from Mass and NJ! Long live the Second Vermont Republic!

I don't have the time to read the link right now, but it seems you and me agree on a little more than I may have thought to begin with...if your going to be in Burlington drop me a line, maybe we can get lunch and talk world politics and then do nothing about it lol...

I don't understand where all this hate is coming from. Who cares about this stuff? I can understand if you disagree with their politics, but does it really bother you if someone dresses differently than you and seems to enjoy the place they live maybe a little too much?

To the OP: I think you could get away with it at City Market, but I personally will not risk it because I'm almost always concealing anyway. If I was OCing on a regular basis, I might give it a shot.

I have no idea about healthy living. I've never been there.

There is no "hate", just an observation of the 50 something boomer's habits. Just remember this is the "Bloombrg/Feinstein/Schumer" crowd. They want to ban carry AND ownership. Someone must be paying for the Brady Campaign and electing people like Feinstein! Personally, I wear Carhartsand non China made clothes, I'm vegetarian, pro-environment, localvore, pro-health care, pro-equal gay rights (not special rights), drive an alternative fuel vehicle.... BUT I'm also a no negotiation defender of the Constitution, Pro-2A (obviously), pro-hunter (even though I don't eat meat), anti-police state, anti- big Gov't, anti-welfare (pro-workfare), pro-freedom of speach. But I'm not a hypocrite! There are a lot of hypocrites in this city! Their manner of dress gives them away. I'm not talking about the cool dressing 20 something hippies, EMO's etc. I'm talking about the aging boomers who support candidates like Symington and have a history of ruining states like NJ, MA and NYC with their tax and spend politics. Not meaning to get political, but here in VT it's PC to talk and debate politics, so don't be offended readers in other states. Dress anyway you like, but don't fight the harmless wind towers whiletellingeveryone how progressive you are!

Your observation sounds a lot like many residents of the Puget Sound area of Washington State.

It's been a long time since I've spent any time in Vermont. Sounds like things have changed. Who is this Gaye Symington person?

Not to get off subject, but Gaye Symington(D)is running for Governor against Rupublican incumbent Jim Douglas. She makes Nancy Pelosi, Charles Schumer, and Dianne Feinstein look like ultra conservative wing-nuts. She is the worst state rep Vermont has EVER had! She might as well just run under the communist banner! I chatted with Progressive Anthony Pollina who is also running, he is pro 2A and pro preserving rural Vermont.

Here she is: http://vermontdailybriefing.com/?p=1011

Do not vote for her! She represents everything that is going wrong with Vermont.

Not to get off subject, but the last poster asked who she is.
