At around 8pm yesterday, a guy was fatally stabbed in a drug deal gone bad some 8 or 9 hundred yards from where I live. Cops, ambulances everywhere, but the damage was done. I walked up to the local gas station for cigs, carrying as usual, shortly after the murder. The lady clerk told me all about the incident, and said, "I don't blame you for carrying THAT at all, on a night like this!"(Taurus85, OWB Kydex rig.)She was totally amazed when I replied, "Actually, I am never without it, usually."

Shows how much people really notice OC, but she was totally cool about it,God bless sensible Kentucky ladies!

Glad to hear you are ok, my friend. Of course a reminder of why to carry would strike close to home. A similar incident happened in my area of TN. An armed robbery of a restaurant. I read about it in the newspaper. What really got my attention was one of the suspects was a character I once worked with! I guess you never know who will turn bad. Anyways, I suppose "you never know when you might need it" is reaffirmed.

Bad stuff going round. Yesterday there was a double stabbing just behind a high school that is less than a mile from my house. Thankfully there were no fatalities, but I didn't figure out that there was anything wrong until I noticed two news helicopters circling in the direction of the school.

Do they think it was gang-related, or just punk kids? Whenever I hear of a stabbing like that, I always wonder if it is MS-13, what with their preference for using knives.

There was a stabbing fatality in a park here in Houston a few days ago that they said on the news was "gang-related;" They don't acknowledge if it is MS-13 as they do not want to encourage them. I'm not sure if HPD even admits MS-13 is active here.

MS-13 is getting to be a big problem here, but this one did not appear to be gang related.

When reviewing the places off limits under the state summary it refers to packing.org. Packing.org lists private businesses may post signs but the statute references “persons holding a concealed deadly weapons license from carrying concealed deadly weapons
Does the statute by its omission then allow OC into a posted businesses? Or is this covered by a statute not referenced at packing.org?

Mike, I rather think that KY has no State admin at present. Wingman and I suggested a guy up in Louisville, Nate, take the job on, but what has happened since, I can't say.

For my part, I tend to OC and ignore the No Concealed Weapon signs. No problems so far. Folks just don't notice OC, in my experience.
