Not enough people think logically. I've had people repeat the peta-esque mantra of animals chewing their foot off to escape a trap, and the BS of 10 nontarget "trash" animals being caught for every target animal. If anyone actually mulled over this "info", they should conclude that it is in error, otherwise why bother to even trap? Think about it- if all these animals chew their feet off and you have to catch 100 bunnies, cats, and dogs, for every 10 foxes and raccoons, at least 3 of which chewed out before you got there, why waste your time? [ the truth is that based on my first hand experience, very very few animals twist out- chewing out is almost nonexistant, and that on average I catch 10 foxes per 1nontarget animal, which tends to be cats, which aren't even injured beyond edema in the paw, so I can let them go alive.]
Hmm, how many of you have fallen for the trapping fallacies? It is human nature to dumb down from time to time for even the free thinkers and book worm nerds. it is even more human nature for the majority to let someone else think for them.
Now, to address the article's theme...Baltimore city is threatening big cuts to the PD and FD and lots of people are moaning and groaning. I don't expect individuals to invest in fire fighting equipment and training for their own homes and block, however there is something called "volunteer FD". In regards to police, it would sure be nice if the officials in Baltimore would tell citizens to arm themselves due to the PD cuts, but the city is so anti gun and so full of elected rats, that will never happen. The city sheeple should be demanding shall-issue or unlisc OC, so they can do nightly neighborhood patrols, and go armed. Heck it is legal now to OC a long gun in the city as far as I know, but officials would never "allow" it. They would rather take whats left of the PD and have good citizens get the JBT for such actions, than leave them alone and do police stuff like watching gangs and druggies.
Back some years ago I was part of a night neighborhood patrol. My OC was my dog, and our group was never jacked up whenI was present. But one night, another group had only some little yappy dog, and they got robbed at gunpoint!
