Hi guys, I'm flying into Atlanta Tuesday and my mom and I may be spending some time in alabama after she picks me up. I'm doing my due diligence on laws and hoping you can help me sort out all the laws. Can I open carry on my Ohio permit? How is the culture around Alabama regarding open carry? Are there protections in place to prevent one from being charged with brandishing or inciting panic or disturbing the peace etc? Do no gun signs have force of law? Am I required to provide ID when questioned by police? Am I required to notify officer when stopped (if concealing and such)I'm looking at statutes but trying to make sure I'm getting the most current information..thanks guys!! If its too much trou le I'll just conceal but I like options

In not any particular order

- AL accepts all other states CCW/CCP/permits
- AL is an OC state, no CCW required - if on foot! CCW required if concealed or in a vehicle (concealed or OC).
- OC does not equal brandishing or disturbing the peace or whatever.
- Gun signs have no force of law. But if asked to leave and you refuse, you could be charged with trespassing. Just don't go into any place with a no guns sign (i.e. don't support anti-gun companies).
- No notification required when in a car or on foot unless asked
- I OC'd in AL for +3 years (and still do when I go there) - never a problem.

Good luck!

Vast majority of those that notice has been very positive. I've gotten a couple dirty looks from old fudds, other than that, no biggies to mention.
