Today I recently OC'd in a few places (Gander Mountain East Side of Madison, and a few places in Oregon) didnt have any issues or run ins with cops, in fact many people were courteous, friendly, and polite as was I towards them. The only issue I had was at Gander when talking with one of the firearms associates, we had been talking about conceal carry and he was saying he hoped there would be required permits, training, and continued training in order to CC and made a statement regarding radicals referring to those of us who want no permits or fees. Unfortunately as I was still needing assistance I didnt tell him I was a member of WCI and thought his comment was slightly uncalled for as a salesman of a store I prefer to shop at.

I had a similar conversation with a manager at the Gander Mt in Rothschild when I dropped off the flyers. It seems people are so stuck on the idea of permits and training that they can't see anything else. Maybe they have been brainwashed by the left, or the government, into thinking that they need the permits and training and can see it no other way.

ETA: Maybe it's because they have abrogated their rights for so long, that they just think that they don't have them.

Of all the times to talk about not requiring permits, fees, etc it is NOW! This spring session of legislature will determine our ability to conceal carry for many years to come, and they had better get it right with constitutional carry.

Your wording is inaccurate. The legislature will not affect our "ability" to carry whether we have permitting or not.

And if they don't "get it right" what are you threatening to do about it?

Gander mountain associate in Wausau told some family members of mine that they check every gun that comes in the store. I wasn't there but I know for a fact gander mountain is carry friendly and they do check guns that come in for trade/repair work. Carry guns nope. Associate was in the wrong or my family didn't tell me the whole story.

I've OC'd all over my city. I even carried at a private dental clinic. Best teeth cleaning I have ever had! Not once did I get jammed in the gums or anything. I have never had anyone say anything about my gun. Sometimes an odd look but that is about it. No police contact.

They have the exact same sign on the door at Gander's 'Gun World' store in Germantown.

My take is that sign is there in the hopes of preventing idiots from standing at the gun counter handling loaded firearms while playing show and tell with their own hardware.

That is behavior I saw at The Bar in Cedar Creek at the gathering post Gov. Walker bill signing.

In my experience, Gander has no problem with open or concealed carry. They just want you to keep your loaded firearm holstered where it belongs.
