Mr. Inglish,

I am emailing you to find out your companies policy on firearms. I Live in Las Vegas Nevada, recently went into one of your company owned locations (4830 W Craig Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89130) and was harassed by an employee about having my gun (clearly visible in my holster), the employee refused to let me conduct any business until I removed my firearm, this concerned me as I have entered this locations several times before without issue. I can understand that if this is the policy I can respect the request, If this is not your companies policy (or lack there of) to ban firearms please inform your employees that it is not acceptable to deny someone there constitutional right (on the state* and federal level**) and claim that it is the policy.

Please consider the fallowing when you reply:
In the state of Nevada citizens are legally allowed to carry firearms openly or concealed (with a valid license), Also allowed by the majority of Nevada business, to protect themselves and their families in case someone else threatens to harm them. By prohibiting all weapons, you will have disarmed and made helpless anyone who enters your store—except for criminals, who won’t follow your policy anyway.
In essence, you would make your stores more dangerous for patrons who carry legally...and safer for criminals.
If it is your companies policy please consider changing it. There may come a time when an armed, law-abiding citizen stands between you and an armed criminal.

Please reply via email.

Sincerely,
(my contact Info)

Companies - plural for company

Company's - Belongings (possessive) to the company.

If the policy belongs to the company, it is the company's policy; Otherwise... great letter, thanks for supporting the cause. I make this criticism not to be a grammar Nazi, lord knows I have poor grammar and spelling too, but the better our writing skills the more apt we are to receive a positive response.

This is a prime example of why I was looking for some support like emails and phone calls! You should have seen my letter to Stations Casinos, boy was that a bad one.

I have proofread letters for several folks on this site. If you ever need someone to check something for spelling and grammar feel free to send me a PM. Besides the mistakes, your letter looks great. I hope you get a response.

2nd attempt

so here is what I sent this time (with edits thanks to thebigsd)

Mr. Inglish,

It has been two weeks since I last emailed you and Mr. Gerson and I
have yet to receive a reply in writing as requested.
You have been given ample opportunity to reply. Please do not
disrespect me by ignoring this second attempt at clarification and
resolution of a customer issue.

Once again here is all of the information needed:

I am emailing you to find out your company policy on firearms. I live
in Las Vegas, Nevada and I recently went into one of your company
owned locations (4830 W Craig Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89130). While there I
was harassed by an employee about having my gun (clearly visible in my
holster.) The employee refused to let me conduct any business until I
removed my firearm, this concerned me as I have entered this locations
several times before without issue. If this is your policy then I can
respect your request by taking my business elsewhere. If it is not
your company's policy to ban firearms please inform your employees
that it is not acceptable to deny someone their constitutional right
(on the state* and federal level**) and claim that it is the policy.

Please consider the following when you reply:
In the state of Nevada, citizens are legally allowed to carry firearms
openly or concealed (with a valid license.) Carry is also allowed by
the majority of Nevada businesses so that law-abiding citizens may
protect themselves and their families in case someone else threatens
to harm them. By prohibiting all weapons, you will have disarmed and

carry legally...and safer for criminals.
If it is your company policy to ban firearms, please consider changing
it. There may come a time when an armed, law-abiding citizen stands
between you and an armed criminal.

Please reply via email or if necessary regular mail.

Sincerely,
(contact info)

so here is what I received via email today

Dear Mr (name),

Thank you for your voicemail and emails inquiring into Cricket's position on customers carrying firearms into Cricket locations, either concealed carry and/or open carry. Cricket does not permit the carrying of firearms in its locations; this includes states that permit concealed carry and/or allow the open carrying of firearms.

We will investigate your claim that you were harassed by a Cricket employee and take the appropriate actions based on the results of the investigation.

Thank you for being a Cricket customer.

Another anti gun location for the list

I know it won't go anywhere, but ask them if they could please add a sign to all of their stores along the lines of 'Please don't do business with us, we don't want your money, we'd rather you go to our competitors if you choose to arm yourself for self defense'

I thought about it but the final reply came from a 3rd party customer service dept. I get the feeling that corp will be ignoring future emails from me

Ya I know it pretty F'd up.

In other news I heard back from the company I work for and while they are generally anti Gun (by written employee policy) they do go by the law when it comes to customers. . . they have told me that unless we (as a company) put up a sign then we are to allow it . . . they also said nothing about enforcing it if a sign does go up and that it will generally be for places that do not allow carry by law anyway. but its still a no for employees to carry in any form.

The wife uses Metro PCS. We are in there every month and never an issue. In fact, going in there today.

As a business owner who is a pro gun advocate, I found myself in the same position regarding employees. The conclusion I came to was to not have a policy. That way, the law dictates. I know it is wishful thinking to think that other companies would be this sensible though.

my only problem is Cricket is unlimited talk text and web for $50 Metro PCS doesn't do the unlimited web. also I only go in the store for bridge pay occasionally. . . while I do not want to support an anti gun business its kinda 50/50 for need vs desire.

We switched the wifes ATT iphone to straight talk. 45 bucks unlimited everything. If you have any ATT phone or GSM type phone it works.

CRICKET (Especially Corporate) SUCKS! (long diatribe - multiple subjects)

1. In the Phoenix market there are 2 types of cricket stores - corporate and contracted.
I have had cell phones with Alltel, Verizon, Sprint/Nextel, and once upon a time Cricket. I have had numerous friends that have been chewed up and spit out by the ANAL cricket machine. Within the Phoenix market of all of the numerous cell phone stores that I have been in, both as a customer and as an independent contractor, cricket CORPORATE stores are the ONLY ones that I have ever seen that have felt an apparently "Irresistible Impulse" to populate their stores with ARMED GUARDS. I can think of only one reason - they are afraid of some customer that enters the store that they have, by their various unfair tactics, severely pi$$ed off.

2. The one time I had a cricket phone I had no issues with cricket, but that is probably because it was an "extra" phone and I permitted an "independent contractor" to my company to use it, she STOLE it, and I've never had to get a cricket phone again.

3. WALMART has exclusive contract with TracFone for their "Straight Talk" Product. As long as you keep it paid, no problems. I upgraded a "regular" Straight Talk phone to their higher end Android offering so as to be able to utilize the "SQUARE" (www.squareup.com) device to accept credit cards by swiping them through my phone. I strongly recommend the straight-talk offerings as a much more consumer friendly alternative to the INSECTS.

4. I DID have a positive experience at a cricket contractor store once. I had "cracked" their locked up safe and sold them a replacement drop safe. A few weeks later after upgrading my "Straight Talk" phone to the Android, and having TracFone's outsourced customer service continually telling me that I must transfer all info from old fone to new fone MANUALLY, I went back to the cricket store and asked for the manager. Within about 5 minutes after pushing multiple buttons on both phones, he had my entire phone list transferred from old straight talk fone to new phone using bluetooth. I don't know why the straight talk people couldn't talk me through this, but it ended up I didn't need to care and it was all good.

I understand why some places feel a necessity to have armed guards.
I WAS an armed guard at a grocery store (and other places) in LA in my younger years (20-30 years ago).

The ONLY reason I can articulate for Cricket to have >>obviously<< uniformed armed guards (after all they could have all their employees armed, or guards in blazers carrying concealed, etc.) in their corporate stores is that they are afraid of their (likely RIGHTEOUSLY P.O.'d) customers.

I'm afraid of the (mostly Israeli) Locksmith Scammers (see: TheLocksmithPolice<dot>com) I'm attacking in court. My 11 year older brother once e-mailed me: "If everything you say is true, you're single handedly taking on organized crime and you may end up hurt or dead..." My response was "In this life I have to die ONCE, it might as well be for something good..."

If, like Cricket, I had to be that afraid of my customers I'd find another business model to entice income.

For the record, Since 2001 when I moved to Phoenix, I've been carrying a handgun in a holster on my belt, usually covered by my "over-shirt" that has pockets on both sides for me to fill up with paperwork and tools. For the first many years I lived here, Concealed Carry was ONLY with a permit. A year or 2 ago the legislature sensibly concluded that since criminals illegally carry concealed there is absolutely no reason for law abiding citizens not to, so in effect they legalized what I had been doing for almost the previous 10 years. Clearly since I'd not been detained or arrested for violating CCW laws I had obviously not been engaging in any conduct that would attract the attention of Law Enforcement.

At times I marvel at the inconsistency between my ears. Sometimes I'd think to myself "I'll leave the gun in the car now because I don't think I'll have to shoot anyone in McDonalds." Forgetting for awhile my immediate thoughts "If I'd have been armed while eating at the McDonalds in San Ysrido when that guy started shooting people at random I'd have blown him out of his socks!"

I few months back I got very angry at myself. I'd had a couple drinks (NOT impaired or drunk) and hungry. I said to myself "Why don't I leave my gun at home?" which I did. I drove to Del Taco, ordered my Tacos, and was minding my own business eating tacos by their back door when I noticed off to my right a guy was climbing over a concrete wall... It appeared that he had something covering his face. As he started circling around behind my vehicle I noticed what I believe was a gun in his hand and I immediately decided "If you're not going to be a statistic, put transmission in drive, and shove hard on gas!" which I did...

I scooted across the street to a liquor store where they permitted me to use the phone to call in "Armed Robbery IN PROGRESS!" (Stupid me FORGOT my cell phone, because I was HUNGRY!"

I am 54. I grew up with 2, sometimes 3 channels of TV. My favorite programs included "ADAM-12" and "Emergency!". Having consumed those programs throughout my childhood, I have lived my life with the ideal that helping people, sometimes in the most dire circumstances, are the things HEROs are made of.

Had I been armed, my actions would have been the same, but different. When the a$$hole circled behind me, I'd have shifted into drive and bolted. When I saw his armed A$$ enter the store, I'd have parked, entered the store behind him, drawn down on him, and told him to drop the gun. If in a distracted state he would have started turning toward me I would have "blown him out of his socks". Had he dropped the gun I would have "FELONY PRONED" him and held him in that condition until cops arrived.

Every time I get dressed and put my gun on my belt I pray to God that I'll never have to shoot anyone. Should God put me to the test, placing me into such a situation, I firmly believe that I'll have the strength and courage to "do the right thing" to protect myself and others...

Funny thing is subsequent to that event by a month or 3, I had occasion to talk to the district manager for Del Taco (bad service - early closing) at another store and when I related my story he said (A) "Oh, they CAUGHT that guy!" and (B) [in my response to "I'd have gone in there..."] he said "Oh, the money isn't worth it...." To which I countered "I don't give a BLEEP about the money, that a$$hole was threatening your PEOPLE! I'd have gone in there to neutralize the threat to your PEOPLE!"

OK - long ramble from an unabashed patriot.

I wish y'all a BLESSED DAY!

I don't think people are "anti-gun" in these locations, just uneducated and stupid, like most of the population. There's a huge difference.

Oh, and some people are "anti-gun."
