deja vu...

quote:
Here’s how this debate is going to go:

Chris Wallace is going to let Trump off the hook by asking him questions that sound tough but generally allow him to dismiss accusations against him as politically motivated. Getting that out of the way as early as possible, Wallace will move on to subjects designed to get the debate on territory friendly to Republicans running downballot.

Wallace is also going to grill the hell out of Clinton, knowing that her lawyerly explanations of very complex issues—like the use of a private email server, or Middle East policy—make her sound squirrelly to voters predisposed to dislike her.

So by the end we’ll have maybe 10 minutes of Trump saying that his accusers are full of ****, and then 70 minutes of Clinton saying, “Well actually Chris the thing you have to understand about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which I supported, is—” and Trump saying things about trade and infrastructure that almost sound plausible if you are not someone who spends any amount of time reading things about trade and infrastructure.

After the debate, the usual idiots will say Trump did fine, and then polls will come out showing Hillary Clinton soundly beat him, and it won’t matter. unquote

Hillary is ahead and likely to win... so you have 2 options.

Help Hillary win, or help Hillary lose. No matter what you choose to do, you will do one of these things.

Help Hillary win = Voting for her, voting 3rd party, or not voting at all.
Help Hillary lose = Vote for Trump.

Hillary is 1000X worse than Trump could ever be... so I'd rather her lose.

I don't really are if the NRA backed trump or not, its about not getting Clinton in there.

One of the two is going to be the president. My vote and thought comes down to who I DON'T want to lead the country. She has done things that I fear, and would be put in jail for 1/1000th..

Walkin Wolf, I had you pegged for a Jill Stein kind of guy.

Seriously though, I am voting for Gary Johnson. He is the most pro gun rights candidate, with an executive record as governor to back it up.

Look at Johnson here. Yeah, he'd make a great president.

Here's some more Johnson info throws gift gun away

http://gunwatch.blogspot.com/2016/06/liberterian-candidate-gary-johnson.html

In a video, Austin Petersen explains that the gun is a prized possession, and that he is giving it to Gary Johnson. The pistol is a flintlock replica of one of George Washington's guns. It thus has multiple symbolic meanings to Second Amendment supporters. It represents liberty, limited government, the Second Amendment, and the Constitution that George Washington helped to write.

It was a dramatic bit of political theater.

The Libertarian Presidential candidate, Johnson threw it in the trash

Trump has some authoritarian collectivist tendencies, which I bristle at since I am an advocate of the NAP(non aggression principle). However, when all the information is collected and processed, not voting for Trump here is a serious mistake, at least if you are in an important state. I'm in FLorida and I just voted for Trump. A couple links explain the mistake, one from Trump himself. If Ron Paul were running on the LP ticket, I'd probably vote for him, Johnson kind of sucks as a Libertarian so it's not worth it to me.

Vote for someone

You vote for either of the 2 main party candidates and you may have say in who is our next president. Vote other and you may prevent a majority and its implied mandate. Votes for the third parties are not wasted, they just cannot defeat either major party candidate. You choose what your vote can do by who you cast it for. Just remember to get the hell off your couch and cast a vote. Do not sit idly by especially with House races (Virginia) and Senate races (elsewhere) are at stake. Throwing up your hands in disgust dooms us all.

A vote for a candidate who can't possibly win is tantamount to giving Shillary your vote, as it takes away from DT's potential count.

The time to exercise your protest vote is during the primaries, not in the final push to defeat the Witch who would be Queen.

I did. Voted Bernie in the primary.

I'll vote Gary Johnson in the general because he's the guy I want as my President.

Your argument is specious because it assumes one would vote for Trump if not for Hillary. NEITHER is worthy of a vote. No way on the gods' green earth would either one of them get my conscientious vote. If you took me to the polling place with a gun to my head and said "vote for one of these two" I'd have to tell you "take the shot".

Then don't cry after Hillary's coronation, most of us will remember.

Another hypersensitive snowflake speaks, happy to raise his children fathered by the state.

None of the above. Where the hell do you get that scat from?

It's simple if you help Hillary win, you have no business coming here and whining about what she does. It's like a patient going to his doctor complaining of a headache after hitting his head with a hammer. The cure to problems that are self inflicted are simple.

THESE are the types of posts that drove posters away after the last gubernatorial election. Complete and utter disrespect for those who choose a different path, with utter disdain for those who don't follow the crowd.

Disagreeable, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

Disagreement would be a discussion such as this---- "I disgree. This is why I disagree...."

Disagreeable would be similar to this----- "Another hypersensitive snowflake speaks, happy to raise his children fathered by the state."

It is not possible to be civil or polite anonymously or pseudonymously to an anonymous respondent. Don't bother, I am not particularly sensitive or empathetic or at all sympathetic or hypersensitive. It is better to be correct than nice.

I disagree with your assertion that is "not possible to be civil or polite anonymously or pseudonymously to an anonymous respondent."
And, BEST to be both correct AND nice.... they are not mutually exclusive. I have made a request for civility. If one finds that they are incapable of same, 'tis sad. It could be argued that some posters have fallen to the level of personal attack and threat. I am not the only one to have made a request on this particular thread on this forum.

Now, enough of this thread drift....

I disagree with the NRA and their "endorsement" of Trump. I will vote for the person I feel best matches my ideal of a good/best candidate. You and anyone else are entitle to vote as you see fit, but as for me, I will not be voting for the lesser of two evils in any election.

BTW the first Republican elected as President of the US was a 3rd party candidate when the Whigs quit being the party of choice for those that voted for and elected Abe Lincoln President. So, it is a false assertion to say that a 3rd party candidate CAN'T win!

In the 58 presidential elections since 1788, third party or independent candidates have won at least 5.0% of the vote or garnered electoral votes 12 times (21%); this does not count George Washington, who was elected as an independent in 1788–1789 and 1792, but who largerly supported Federalist policies

A NRA-ILA endorsement is for the FUDDs who infest this great country.

Example (for Missouri): Chris Koster (D) gets a A...go figure.

When (if?) RSMo 21.750.3 is fixed, what then is the purpose/benefit of a NRA-ILA endorsement when no prior restraint on the peaceable carry of a firearm exists in the law. Knowing who to vote for where our 2A is concerned? That has done little to remove prior restraints in many states.

Has NRA-ILA worked counter to the efforts of grassroots gun rights organizations in many states?
