Seems really strange to see ads calling out 5 republican senators who will not support the Anti-gun lobbies efforts in the upcoming special session. I applaud them for standing up to the hysteria. How do the anti's get to place ads on a pro gun website?

Wrearick...the political advert phenomenon you’re experiencing must be something specific on your end in VA as i’m not seeing any type of political adverts whatsoever!

I will profess to not have a clue how the advert system works, if approval is needed or if it can be even be localized to the extent your discussing?

Something tells me in the recesses of my mind there was a discussion in the past when members started receiving GLBT adverts it had to do with the individual’s browser & settings coupled on the site(s) they visited putting hooks [wrong word but you get the concept] in their ‘systems’ but at the moment do not recall the specifics...course i clean both my complete browser activity out weekly.

[sidebar - Now that stated, earlier this year when members were discussing robo calls from the NRA I hadn’t received any of them to my knowledge...now i’m experiencing about two a week  so i hope this in not an omen of things to come]

Just a passing thought...

If they're Google ads, it's probably driven by keyword searches of the web page. So since Google sees lots of "gun" related words here, and the sponsor of the ads has probably asked for their ads to be displayed on gun-related pages, Google sees the match, and there you go.

They (the anti-gun sponsors) have to pay Google for this (ETA: AND they pay THIS SITE too), so to be quite frank, I LOVE seeing them here, because that's money they are spending (AND giving to OCDO) that is NOT reaching a useful audience.
