As someone who lives next door to this Whole Foods and chooses to shop at Rouse's on Tchoup instead, I just wanted to say thank you for posting this video. You've done a good thing. Hope this cop pays.

Thanks for choosing another option. I OC in Rouse's on the North Shore on a weekly basis. Never an issue and their prices are competitive.

Oh.. and Rouse's is a local business. Two reasons to stay away from Whole Foods.

The only update I have is that New Orleans laywer Owen Courreges has taken the case and is going to make things right. It will be some time (Months maybe) before we see a conclusion to this and nobody is going to publicly post anything else which may affect their case in court until it's over.

OK. I was thinking court date or something. I don't believe I read that up there.

I hope this cop realizes how lucky he is it is just just charges being thrown down on him and not dirt from above his grave site. And as for you. You are actually lucky you did not respond the way I would have. Sorry about your experience hope everything works out well for you. Are you still OCing?

Has anybody heard an update to this case? Is there anything in the local news? This story has given me ptsd. I am much more aware now like I should be. In fact I am looking for information and training for retention in a gun grab situation.

I laugh at everyone who's jumping all over the Officer for doing his job. It's usually better to be part of the solution than part of the problem.

this cracked me up. Officer bowzo must be unhappy with you all if he is so paranoid that he comes here to "investigate". Must be sad to know you may lose your job.

As for haw long the court thing takes, my incident was over seventeen months ago and the city attorney and my attorney are still going at it.

Some day he's going to do that to the wrong person, an MMA fighter, or a martial arts black belt, and wonder what the hell happened when he starts to regain conciseness.

Another burned out cop that needs to be put on mental leave. IMHO - Hope plantiff cleans NOPD's clock & takes a chunck out of wholefoods @$$ for hiring such stupid people to "protect their store". I keep thinking what would of happened if a armed robber walked in while officer dip stick has his self all tied up trying to take by force the only other weapon in the store from the legal carrier?.?.?...Probably a dead dumb @$$ cop, dead law-abiding citizen OCer and who knows how many others? Can anyone say Barney Fife?

SGT. BOWSER: What, you wanna know why I did it? Twenty-five years as a police officer. I’m not gonna give you the drop on me. You understand that? That’s why Idid it. You have a problem with that? I’m not even gonna apologize. That’s why I did what I did. [PAUSES AND POINTS AT MR. MONACO]. You’re lucky that’s all I did.

Since when has an OCer ever "gotten the drop" on a LEO? /facepalm

Let me finish. You’re gonna tell me it’s your right to have a gun, I’ve heardthe arguments before. I never said I didn’t understand that. Louisiana is an open carry state, but the City of New Orleans, private property can dictatewho can carry and cannot carry weapons. I’m the only one that can carry agun on this property, and a) I’m working here; and, b) I’m commissioned. That’s it. You’re not the first person that’s come in here with a gun strapped to his side and they walk up to me and say: “Hey, a guy’s strappin.’” I come to find out he’s probation or parole, whatever the case may be. They didn’t put their badge on their belt. I did the same thing to ‘em.

I call BS! Criminals don't OC.

This should be a slam dunk in court.

I absolutely agree!

I can't wait to see how this plays out. I can see how there will be consequences for bowser and the police department, but what can happen to Whole Foods?

I am under the impression bowser acted alone. I guess bowser can try to pass the responsible to WFs but that would be a weak defense.

I wouldn't want to be bowser's attorney.

SNIP I call BS! Criminals don't OC.

Oh, sure some do. For example,

The criminals who arrested that 2A-supporting citizen and detained his co-diners at that family restaurant in PA a few years ago.
The criminals who arrested Ted Syzmecki and left his wife and kids stranded in the middle of a city in VA a few years ago.
The criminals who seized the 2A-supporting diners at Tony's restaurant in VA several years ago.
The criminals who...

Lots of criminals OC.

PS: I know that's not what you meant; I'm not trying to contradict you. Just using it as an opportunity to highlight the criminality of a certain segment of [STRIKE]society[/STRIKE]* government.

*Scratched that because I realized I was demeaning society by including those particular criminals as members.
