'Wabbit stew? I love wabbit stew' quote from Bugs Bunny.

My sister raises rabbits and all I can think of when my 6 year old nieces puts it in my lap is 'Mmmm rabbits.' Never say it out load.

One of my first kills when I was 8 was rabbit. Skin it, gut it and fry it up. 'Mmmmm'

Much better then quail. Lots of work and not much meat.

ROFL! The kids might try to stage a rebellion against you -- especially around this time of year.

Actually you can bring sillouette targets, you just have to fold the heads down. At least that's what they made me do.

Don't bring any ammo that will stick to a magnet. That's bullet or case. Unless they have changed, they won't let you shoot it. They think, or did think, that magnetic equals AP including handgun ammo.:?

They do not think that magnetic = AP. Steel cored ammo chews up their backstop really badly. I've been at Ommelanden when a guy was shooting eastern European steel-core by mistake. The Range Officers stopped him because they saw the sparks coming off the backstop where his rounds were hitting.

The whole steel cased or jacketed thing has changed then. I worked in a gun shop in '95 and we sold alot of US made 7.62x39 because Ommelanden had a policy of not letting any ammo be shot that would stick to a magnet. And that was bullet or case. They didn't want to hear anything about it having a lead core. I used to shoot 7.62x39 training ammo that was steel jacketedat Targetmaster. It made a big spark but didn't hurt the backstop. Now granted, it had a plastic core. Ommelandenwouldn't let me shoot 32acp that had a steel jacket because they said it would punch holes in the backstop. Now, when he told me this, someone was shooting a DE 50AE and another guy was shooting a 3006. I don't think I've shot there in ten years.

Luckily that's why they make practice and defensive ammo. :p

Remember to shoot the cheaper practice FMJ stuff at paper targets (Ommelanden), and save the more expensive JHP stuff to shoot at the bad guys.

I'll be bringing a value pack of 9mm if anyone wants to try out one of my XDs. And I'll bring a partial brick of rimfire if anyone wants to shoot the Savage. I'll also bring the Mosin and ammo, although I'm not sure if they'll allow that one or not.

Well looking foward to shooting Sat Morn just got back from shooting my brand new Bond 45/410 Derringer. The first shot I took was with a 3 inch 00 buck 410 shell and I must say dam kick my butt. Then I thought I like this so I shot a few more then swith to the 45lc rounds and they felt like a bb gun air pistol. So I swith to the 2 1/2 410 6 and 8 shot shells which didn't have as much kick. So I must say 10 to 20 feet with shot shells you can't miss. So I called Pauls gunsmiths back up and ordered the .357 .38 barrel to I just might get the .32 one to. Century 2000 gun rocks. You are all wellcome to try it out one small gun one big big punch.

An appetite for brunch!

I'll be bringing my XD9 -- if anyone cares to see what the Dawson precision fiber optic sights are like, you're more than welcome to try it out. I picked up (3) 50 round boxes from Walmart on 13/40... this is the second week they've been out of the 100 round boxes.

We'll plan better next time around -- when we set the date, we weren't aware that it was Easter weekend! Glad you could make it, though!

Well, as always, I had a great time at our meeting! PLUS, we got to handle/shoot guns this time, too! For me, the range trip was just a sad reminder (and proof) that practice makes perfect... and wow do I need more practice. At least I could hit the paper! LOL.

Some of you have great gun handling skills and awesome groupings. Perhaps I should take some lessons from you guys!!

Thanks to those of you who let me shoot "other" guns. That's one of the coolest things about getting together w/ a bunch of "gun friends" at the range: sharing!

The IHOP experience was certainly different than in the past: an hour wait! :what:

It was nice seeing some familiar faces, and meeting new people, too.

I guess it's time toplan the next one already. :celebrate

Definitely had a blast!

I just wish I had more rifle time -- having never really fired rifles for any extended period, I'm looking forward to a time when I can sit down with an AR or M-4 and take some shots.

Outside of that, yeah... loved the buckshot revolver, LOVED the 1911'a -- I really gotta get me one -- and the conversation and company at breakfast was great. I really don't mind waiting if its with friends, as long as there's stuff to yap about. :)

Thanks again all for making it and be sure to check out the new deloc.org site. :)
