Just curious but how many of you would be interested and how soon? I have run mobile CCWSfor many groups in NV I have been thinking of expanding this service. I would have to say Wendover is a ways from Reno. I've been there many times fo both Utah instructors course and Hellfire rocket launches at Bonneville. I just never thought there was enugh demand torun a course there.

Thursdays or Fridays are BEST , most Saturdays are ok also... 3 of 4 for me but with ENOUGH advance planning any day can be made to work!

edited to add the blurb about Saturdays.

A weekend in June would be good for my wife and I.

I have spoken to her about this and she is interested also.

This needs to be linked to the Utah section of the forum also.

Well I figure it would take around 10 or so and the end of July would be perfect for me I could run it on a Friday or Saturday. I would have to find a place to teach and shoot but I'm not opposed to it with enough people and the cost wouldn't be that much different than doing near Reno. Let's talk about this I'mwiling to work with people.

I'll have to look at what my costs to run the class would be. I have to figure travel time, fuel, lodging and a place to conduct the class. It would be 800 mi round trip I would be there the night before stay, run the class, stay drive back the next day. According to my schedule the best day would be Aug 6th or 7th. I know people have said July I'm still able to work a date there too. I think the biggest hurdle would be some where to hold the class that would be reasonable in price. The range portion should be easy just find a safe spot on the BLM where people recreationally shoot.

The class cost itself would bearound $125 for NV and if someone wanted there UT I could add it on for$25. With 10 people it would be worth it. I know for a fact that there are cheaper courses but I have seen first hand and heard of even more incidents from the cheaper companies. I wouldmake it worth your time and mine.

I would suggest confirming that your instructor (whoever it is) is acceptable in the county you are applying in.

I have attempted to get a CCW in Lincoln County twice, and both times they told me they only serve residents of Lincoln County and only accept certain instructors. This is in violation of Nevada law, but rather than fighting it I took my dollars to Clark County instead. I'd much rather support Lincoln County, but they will not accept non-residents.

Anybody from Lincoln County listening?

The system is better now and the new applications are State and not County. We can certainly check with the counties to which application will be made however there isn't much that they can do about it. We are considered state instructors once one Sheriff has accepted the credentials. It shouldn't be an issue for those who want their rights upheld:D

Take a look at this application: http://www.lincolncountynv.org/sheriff/LCSO_CCW_Permit_App.pdf

Look carefully at the first requirement on the list. Lincoln County is my favorite county in Nevada, but.................................... Good luck getting a CCW there if you aren't a resident. Maybe you could fight it, but I tried my best on the phone (twice).

They do have a new county attorney that I've heard is quite knowledgeable and reasonable. My business often deals with the Lincoln County Attorney if I get a good opportunity I will mention the problem to him.

Already waiting for word from Elko County Sheriff. I received an email saying his CCW unit would get back to me on Mon. Lincoln county is right outside Clark down south no need to woory about going there. I'm leaning more to the date of Aug 5th or 6th. but theres plenty of time to discuss it.

Anyone have suggestions on places to advertise this in Salt Lake? Sportsmans clubs and ranges etc that might be able to boost the attendence. At this point it's looking slim. I would like to see about 15 people if more I might be able to knock the cost down some.

My only problem is the date. Aug is a long time away. The end of June or mid July may be a better time; I would think people don't want to wait 3 months to take a class. Then have to wait more time to actually receive their permit. It is so far off I may need to consider going to Mesquite to get mine and my wife’s.
