Well My wife and kids went to Hayden Lake Idaho to do some shopping and we went to the Hayden lake Walmart, I finally got enough courage to wear my firearm into walmart..OC style i had no problems at all when i was in Walmart. i was really nervous at first but as soon as i went into walmart and noticed that no one cared that a legally armed man was walking around looking at things i felt at ease. As i was walking over to look at the rifles i had a guy walk by and tell me that i had a nice gun. I got no funny looks no staring at the guy with the gun and no MWAG calls to the police. i did see a old lady who was a checker look at me twice but that's all. So i call that a very good first outing.........:D i also want to say thanks to everyone who gave me the courage to OC through their knowledge and stories.

Congrats...don't be a nervous Nelly, it draws attention to yourself...probably doesn't matter in Hayden Lake, but may draw undue attention in CdA.

You should be fine at Big R. I OC at the one on Trent quite often. Also been OC at severa. Places in Hayden with no issues.

Today I went Ocing again at the Hayden lake Walmart with no problems, then i went to the Big R store in CDA, and i walked in and a worker told me that i could carry in the store with a CWP but not OC. I asked to talk with the Manger and when i asked what the policy about firearms being openly carried on a person and he said that OCing at both Big R stores was perfectly fine with them and he seemed like he liked it when people OCed in his store and he let the worker that stopped me know that it was ok if a person came in the store while OCing.... so it was a great day..... and I'm not so nervous...:monkey

Hey bro, glad to hear your first OC went well. I just purchased my first sidearm today. A Taylor and Co. 1911 45.Cal, and will be OC everywhere I go. I recently started attending college, and it really worries me with all the chaos going on. Unfortunately one can't carry on CWI property, which leaves me to worry; never-the-less I am glad I can finally feel at ease that I can protect myself if the need ever comes about *lets pray it doesnt*.

I love seeing people OC, it makes me feel safer about the location I'm at.

Big R :) I was approached by the new manager at the new Big R in Omak...He asked why he say so FEW people OC in his store there in Omak, as verses the store he came from in MT...
