My first time ever OC'ing period. Had a few things to get done today so thought I would give it a try.

First place was Kinkos to fax something. A few people in the store, but I dont think anyone even looked at me. No interactions.

Second place was to get an oil change. 5 mins into my oil change a police officer enters the building in uniform.Igive her a smile and she does the same. My holster was onmy right while she was on my left. I don't thinkshesaw it. She was there to pickup a car.I didhave two interactions there. Onewith a guy who'd just moved from PA. His daughter was moving out here and he's buying her a pistol and wanted to know how she could get a permit. The second person was an employee. He asked if I was an officer, I politely replied that I was just a regular Joe. He asked if I had a permit, I informed him that the great state of Colorado allowslaw abiding citizens to OC without one. Turns out he was a felon, and asked me if he would be excluded from carrying.I suggested getting a more qualified opinion.

For a first experience everit was positive. Being new to northern CO it's encouraging. Generally I think people are more curious than afraid. I'll continue to OC occasionally to increase my comfort with it.

Well done on the OC!
So a felon asked you about it?!?!? LMAO!!
As far as that goes, you can only OC or CC (with permit of course) if you are only legally allowed to own a gun. Felons are not even allowed to own them or have them in their possession as far as I know. Did he mention what the felony charge was?
If that would have been me on my first OC, I probably would have dropped a log in my shorts when the LEO arrived! LOL

He mentioned it was "receiving stolen property".I knew that he wasn't able to carry (or legally own) a firearm, but as nice as he was to me I didn't want to poop on his day. It's funny how open people are sometimes. Just goes to show you that felons of all types are out in the populace :uhoh:... or at least 50% of the people I interact with. :D

When the cop walked in I thought, "damn they got here fast"
