Stopped by my local Starbucks and bought a Venti (I normally just get a Grande) to celebrate this special occasion (and throw a little extra their way). I got home and checked their Facebook page; it is absolutely exploding with activity! Nearly every post is from a 2AM supporter. I feel proud to be involved in this show of support!

they asked what kind ,, was my gun, star modelo super.
one girl said she and her hubby want to get guns too,,, and motioned to her hips, as if to draw two guns!
they made me some deliouse coffee, and we made small talk for awhile.

I made sure to tell them thank you to Starbucks for following State Law,, and support all our rights.

Went to my regular Starbucks on Union in Seattle. Got a vente iced green tea. Paid with a couple of TJs. Tipped a TJ. Thanked them for not discriminating against gun owner/carriers. They know me, so they know where I'm coming from. When we were discussing the boycott the other day one of the baristas laughed and said, "Well, I guess we're gonna' have another profit spike!"

Someone's been paying attention!

Stopped (unarmed :banghead::banghead::banghead:) at the Aurora Village Starbucks yesterday morning for a frappe & breakfast. Busy as usual in there. SO were all the *$'s I passed downtown. Not much of a boycott if you ask me.

5 of us were at the Starbucks in Redmond(157th and Redmond Way). Only 2 police showed up but no contact.

Maybe the cops are supporting OC and Coffee also.....

If in uniform they where OCing their pistol, did they buy coffee? Even better if the cops paid with 2 dollar bills. I would have got up and paid for the cops coffee with two dollar bills telling them this cup is on me just to see their faces.

The first officer came in and purchased a coffee. A short time later another officer came in looked around and left without purchasing anything. I think the two officers were on break, talking outside. My feeling is officer #1 had come to get coffee, noticed us and mentioned it to the other officer #2 whom was curious and decided to peak inside and look. This is just my thoughts on it.

Officer #2 just wanted to compare gun size.

Showing support from South Korea

Finally got a chance to sit down and post... a little bit late but there you have it, showing some support from South Korea. The barista didn't have a clue what I was talking about, but I drop a thank you note on the "customer service box"...

My response from Starbucks:

Hello Michael,

Thank you for contacting Starbucks.

Thank you for your feedback regarding Starbucks' policy on open carry laws.

At Starbucks, we deeply respect the views of our customers and recognize that there is significant and genuine passion surrounding the issue of open carry weapons laws. We comply with local laws and statutes in the communities we serve. Our long-standing approach to this issue remains unchanged and we abide by the laws that permit open carry in 43 U.S. states. Where these laws don't exist, openly carrying weapons in our stores is prohibited.

As the public debate around this issue continues, we encourage customers and advocacy groups from both sides to share their input with their public officials. We are extremely sensitive to the issue of gun violence in our society and believe that supporting local laws is the right way for us to ensure a safe environment for both partners and customers.

Thanks again for writing us. If you ever have any questions or concerns in the future, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Sincerely,

Nicholas

It seems silly to try to make some sort of statement here in Texas, but does anyone think it's worth going to Starbucks here with some sort of card or statement showing support for y'all in Washington? Feels fruitless, but I wonder.

EDIT: Yeah I know it's nine days after the event ;)

1. The boycott STARTED on 2/14
2. It's a nationwide boycott.
3. It's a boycott against ANY type of carry in Starbucks,so it involves Texas, too, since Texas is a concealed carry state.
4. Starbucks isn't pro-2A. They simply refuse to discriminate against law abiding citizens.

Nevermind the card or statement. Simply patronize Starbucks as you normally would. If you want to make a statement, pay for your purchase with $2 bills.
