That is just too funny, Carondolet. Prior to any changes on this site, those LEO's had never bothered to read their own state's constitution, article 3 sec 12, right to bear arms. Yet, these are the SAME folks who swore an oath to uphold and defend the state constitution !!! Just how do you uphold and defend something you've never read? All they DO know is anyone outside of "law enforcement"carrying a gun without a permit goes to jail, period, end of story. Sidenote: there is no such thing as open carry in Mississippi. ANY carry is considered to be concealed. What you have is licensed CONCEALED carry. The operators of this site need to come up with a NEW color just for the idiot state of Mississippi...........

THIS IS A LOAD OF BULL SH*T!! The state constitution clearly states that every citizen has the right to bear arms in defense of there person. The constitution says that the state can regulate concealed carry only. The right to carry openly or "partially concealed" can not be called into question. furthermore, I'm 18, what other option do I have. I can vote and I can die for my country but, the state has the audacity to tell me that I can't carry a weapon to defend my life!

If the state wants to claim that open carry is concealed carry, Then what's to stop them from banning the carry of weapons altogether. The citizens of Mississippi need to stand up to those tyrants in Jackson and claim back the rights that are rightfully ours!

I will continue to OPEN CARRY in Mississippi WITHOUT A PERMIT and I encourage all citizens to do so.

Dave1289,

I hear ya, guy. Yea, Jackson is not a center of common sense, that's for sure. Not that Baton Rouge is any stronghold of logic, either. Suggestion: just today, I spent quite some time talking with your state rep Edward Blackman. He's obviously on our side here. He said to contact him after January 8th when the legislature convenes. I'v got a better idea. Let's spend the interim period rounding up as many as we can to all call him on January 9th. 601-359-1541. When we call, ask for legislation to clarify the distinction between open carry and concealed carry.

That's what i want to hear dave! its our right to have these guns and that just the way it is and to bad if the police don't like it. if you were carrying the day that nut took that police woman's gun and killed her most likely she would be here today and you would be a Hero because you are a cautious person and in that case you knew who the bad guy was!
