My husband and I will be staying in WY for a few days and then headed home through Utah, likely the Ogden area as we head back north from Evanston. Anyone care for some coffee or dinner and a chat that Monday?

What Monday and in what state, city or general area?

I may be up for that, if nothing comes up that requires my presence at the American Legion Post. Ogden is about 2 blocks away, so it would be geographically convenient. "That Monday" being the 26th - Memorial Day? There's nothing on our calendar for that day, so as far as I know it would work. Pax... :D

Yes, the 26th. We're not really on much of a timeline other than "leave Evanston Monday, arrive back to the Seattle area by Tuesday afternoon" so anywhere in that time frame works, and really anywhere a long that route.

Do you have a favorite place in mind for coffee? (I'm guessing you are already somewhat familiar with the Ogden area, from previous travels)

Nope, I've never been through Utah at all. Anywhere works that I can get some decent espresso that preferably isn't a Starbucks. Beggars can't be choosers though. If the green lady is all that is around, the green lady it is. Suggestions?

Espresso... I'll have to check around for that. There's a new coffee shop in Clearfield (about 5 miles south of Ogden) called "Rocket Fuel". I'll see if they have espresso, and get back to you.

Okay, I got the name of the coffee shop wrong... it wasn't "Jet Fuel", it is Rocket Fuel (C, BNC) and they are located at 50 S. State Street, Clearfield UT. Stopped in tonight and inquired, and they DO have Espresso. I checked to make sure they were open on Memorial Day and they are. Not knowing if you have GPS, here's a Yahoo map and directions:

X9HzoUy0BBVGAAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==

Evanston, WY

  • Head toward 8th St on Front St (WY-150). 0.5 mi/

  • Take ramp onto I-80 W toward Salt Lake. 34.5 mi/

  • Keep right at exit #168 toward I-84 W/Ogden. 0.3 mi/

  • Continue on I-84 W. 31.4 mi/

  • Take exit #87B/US-89 N/Ogden. 0.2 mi/

  • Turn left onto US-89. 2.0 mi/

  • Take exit #404/UT-193 W/Clearfield/Hill AFB onto Bernard Fisher Hwy (UT-193). 5.8 mi/

  • Bear right onto State St (UT-126). 0.8 mi/

  • Your destination on State St (UT-126) is on the left. The trip takes 75.5 mi/ and 1:10 h.

Is there an approximate TIME you would like to meet there?

Not sure as of yet. We've got a list of things to check out while we're down there, but I'm hoping for maybe early or mid afternoon? I should know a little bit more towards Sunday.

Not to plug any paticulair buisness but there is a great coffee shop that is OC friendly. I might even be able to get the owner to give a discount (my little brother owns it). It is near Weber State Collage and close to I-80 interchange.

It is called the Beans and Brew in Ogden Utah.

4201 Harrison Blvd,

Ogden, UT 84403

I will be at the Coffee Shop in Ogden on Monday 26 May 14 around noon.

Either one would be fine, but if we're helping out an OC friendly family, i think I'd prefer that one! We'll be (hopefully) leaving Evanston tomorrow morning around 9am, so however long it takes from there. If either of you wants to pm me your email or phone numbers, that's easier for me to keep track of while we're on the road, so i can get you updates a little better. :)

I have a family gathering in West Point at noon now, but I could spend about an hour visitng. You should be able to be at the coffee shop by 10:30 at the latest barring unforseen problems - that 75 miles is easily done in 90 minutes... usually! I'll be the guy on the silver Honda VTX. Pax...

I had an enjoyable (but short, on my part) visit with Idaho (Doc Walker & Mrs. Doc Walker) and Washington (38or45 - Aaron and Ariel) states. Wish I could have stayed longer, and hope y'all did! Thanks for the invite. :D Pax...
