My OC sidearm is a Ruger P91DC full frame. Too large and heavy to conceal. From a quick internet search Ruger really doesnt have anything small enough. Their compact is over 7.5 inches long and over 5.5 inches tall. I would like to stick with the .40 cal so I dont have to worry about which ammo to grab. I will look into all the sidearms you folks talked about here, thanks.

Actually my sons SR40c Ruger is under 7" long and just 4.61" tall and weighs 23.4oz, might want to work on your google foo.

No google, just went to Rugers web site and looked at the stats of their .40 centerfire pistol. The SR40 is 7.55 long and 5.52 tall. I now see the SR40c (which is obviously for compact) is 6.85 long and 4.61 high (just over an inch wide). The website didn't mention if it was a single or duel action pistol though, anyone know?

It is dual only.. I have the SR40C as my EDC. It is an exceptional compact pistol for its cartridge size. The recoil management on it is amazing. I have shot full sized 9mm's with more recoil than the SR40C. I also love alot of the features that it comes standard with, as well as the fact that you can slam home a full sized magazine in it, giving you the option to carry it as a "full size duty" or compact. I run mine with the 9 rd mag with one in the chamber, and my 15 rounder as my spare. It is easy and quick to field strip and clean, simple to use, and it is hammer less which makes it a great choice for a CCW. (Just a personal opinion but I hate any weapon that is cc and has a hammer...just another thing that could go wrong on the draw.) Anyways if you have any questions about it just ask and I will do my best to help you out.

Remember that unless they changed it recently the width is measured at the safety. The rest of the gun is quite a bit thinner than at that point.

I have an SR9c. I love it. And it is striker action. It has a trigger pull much like a heavy single action, without the hammer.

The grip isn't too comfy on the bare skin on your side though. The checkering is pretty sharp on more sensitive areas then your hands. Glass filled nylon frame.

When I CC, my choice is the Taurus PT740 with an added Hogue Handall Jr carried in a Remora holster.

Even when I wear slim fitted shirts, it is impossible to tell I have it...unless of course a strong breeze comes along. The short barrel length makes it comfortable to sit with for extended periods of time too. If I were a sissy I might have opted for the 9mm version that kicks less, but like you I didn't want to add another caliber to stockpile. Damn I really do love the way the .40 kicks in this little pistol! :p
