Is it an incorporated authority? I couldn't find any language in that regard. Even so, until the CoA decision the ban is only good in Ingham County.

Baldwin Library in Birmingham was chartered under PA 164 of 1877 (CITY, VILLAGE, AND TOWNSHIP LIBRARIES)
see third paragraph here: http://www.bloomfieldhillsmi.net/FrontDesk/Documents/LibraryAgreementforServices_Baldwin_2011.pdf

So, since they were established under the city of Birmingham, I don't think if we had the CoA decision go against our interests (not thinking it would), they would still have a hard time justifying the ability to regulate firearms in light of MCRGO vs Ferndale.

I thought that the library is where one might expect to find smart people.

My wife is a librarian (Ph.D); she often laughs about being at conventions and being able to pick out librarians out on the street; the profession is over populated with dorks, geeks, weenies, doofuses, namby-pambies, wimps, pantie wetters....... All generally to the left of Karl Marx.

Again, God Bless the Internet.

Someday, libraries will be a thing of the past.

Who wants to go to the library to watch the perverts stand around the children's section or see them watch porn on the public computers.

I'd rather look something up on my laptop or iphone.

When they are closed, there will be no more libraries trying to pull nonsense.

I noticed, the internet also seems to be getting rid of other gun free zones, like the post office :)

Do to computer issues, I'm currently forced to access the internet from the library (here), and your not kidding, I checked the history just out of curiosity, and: :shocker::eek:

Porn, Porn, Porn, Porn, Porn Porntube to be specific.

Some folks here have noticed that Birmingham is trying to "play it safe" with PR, and keep quiet in the media while they let the courts do their dirty work. Is this an opportunity to let Birmingham turn itself into a media circus (with our help of course)?

I may be able to attend, is it open to the public?
