OC'd at Discount Tire on Bay Rd. in Saginaw for about an hour today (very friendly and helpful staff) buying a new tire for the right rear of my Camaro.... several people, staff and customers, saw my sidearm and guess what? No one ran away screaming, no one fainted, no manly men puffed up their chests in testosterone fueled indignation, no cops showed up... but what did happen was..

I bought a tire.

LOL!!!! I quit spinning the tires the minute I learned how much new one's cost.... but I had to buy a new one because I picked up a nail too close to the sidewall to repair. And instead of buying the expensive tires I cheaped out with a $200 one. It is rated for 168 mph so I'm happy because Chevrolet says the car will do 155mph so I need a tire that matches the car's capability even if I don't drive that fast.

Went to Riverside Mkt. in Montrose.. OCing as usual to get a few things, including some dinner wine, and while checking out Yooperlady and I noticed a sign that said folks couldn't buy alcohol unless they were born before this month in 1992 so...

When checking out I mentioned to the very nice check out lady that she didn't ask me if I was born before 1992.. and she looked at me funny and said that no.. she didn't...

And her face broke out in a bright beaming smile when I said...

THANK YOU!

And the guys behind us in line joined in the fun...

Down town Holland, one loud mouth sheep. "Oh now I feel safe" was her comment.

Dude! You do have a way with the ladies. :p. Maybe she just wanted you, but didn't know how to approach you? You know, like when we were teens & would wolf whistle at cute girls from car windows as we flew by at mach whatever speed. No chance of rejection, or a date....err.... :(

On topic OCing now - all good.

Went to Skyline HS in Ann Arbor. We have a new principal, so I made sure I had the recorder going. Not a word said the place was packed.

Also walked the dog in the dark. But Maple road is lit up really good at Dexter Rd.

Lake Michigan Credit Union where the guard said hey at least you won't get fired if you have to use it. Then over to Marge's for some pumpkin doughnuts and them home so I could get ready for work. No issues.

Hiked the dunes again, one end to the other.

Judging by some of the looks I got, I think a few foreign tourists will be going home with stories to tell.

Went to the picnic at Riverside park where I met up with Raggs, Dr. Todd and a lot of other cool people. Then Raggs and I OCed down at Artprize where nothing happened at all.

Had a good day of OCing today, Oc'd at Barrack616 dropping off flyers for the 2nd A March next week as well as Al n Bobs and Silver Bullet. Went to Meijers to pick up dinner and a man came up to me about the OC and said he loved it shook my hand and was off.
Went to the KPD to get the wife a purchase permit to transfer my gun to her so it is now hers, was told by one of the cadets that the clerk wanted me to leave, I explained that the lobby of the police Dept was not a GFZ and the cadet said ok, He went in back and a minute later a Sergeant came out and headed towards me. I told him the same thing about the lobby not being a GFZ and he said it was a grey area but that I could stay. We then talked about guns for about 15 minutes. He did say the only thing he had against open carry was the old thing about the OCer being targeted first. I agreed that COULD happen, but that my openly carried firearm was a definite deterent to which he agreed. Transferred the pistol to my wife and we were off.
I am still amazed how few negative instances I have had OCing.
