I took the family over to the O-fest downtown in lees summit, they have been having NO GUN signs the last couple years, so when I was going down I deposited my weapon at a 2a friendly business, that agreed to secure it for me, I have known the owner for awhile and he is a CCW, but as I got down to the fest there was no signs.

Just FYI

Went to Octoberfest yesterday with my wife and my two, four year old grandaughters.OCarried as usual, didnt see any no firearm signs, but I wasnt looking for them anyway. Walked all over downtown, happened to see 4 LEO's at different times, walked by 3 heading west on 3rd across the tracks, no issues. Took the grandkids on a bunch of rides, ate at a place downtown, walked all over just seeing what they had....everything went ok.I ran into my pastor and his wife and part of his family, they are pro 2nd. amendment, my pastors wife told me of this guy who came by her garage sale, OCarrying also, by her description I'm sure it was ComSec, she said she asked him questions about it, and he explained it to her, she is interested in getting her CCW. If I understand Missouri Law, nailing a few no weapons signs on a couple of barricades, on a couple of public streets, when the event is NOT gated, and each entrance isnt posted, isnt a legal posting, at least that was going to be my reply if I would have been stopped by LEO's at the event. Before we went, that was my wifes biggest concern, getting hasseled by the local LEO's, she wanted me to conceal it or leave it in the car. I told her that I wasnt going to leave it in the car, and I wasnt going to conceal it, my right to protect her and my grandaughters, doesnt stop by going to Octoberfest. Two years ago, I was surrounded by 5 Leo's at this event, wanting to know WHY I was carrying a firearm, and to see if I was LEGAL to carry a firearm.I was hassled for about 20 minutes, then released and told to have a nice day....I thought there was a good chance I would be stopped and questioned, but anytime you OC, you should be prepared for that.I can honestly say, walking around, enjoying the festivities with my wife and grandaughters and not being hassled......was a good thing.
