In Florida, open carry is lawful while engaged in, or going directly to and from, lawful Target Shooting, Hunting, Fishing, and Camping expeditions. FL Statutes 790.25(3)(h), (j), and (k). What is the open carry law in your state?

As a law enforcement officer and or a civilian are you for or against open carry. Why or why not?

The majority of those comments are rather disheartening..."CC gives you a tactical advantage", "Carrying of any kind should require mandatory training", "OCers deliberately walk into bad parts of town with a gun strapped to their hip, challenging cops..." etc ad naseaum...

One guy had a really bad attitude toward any non-LEO who carries, calling us as$h0|es who are getting revenge because we weren't accepted into LEO training.

I asked if he was getting revenge on journalists by posting on FB because he wasn't hired by the New York Times.
Or when he prays (if he does) is he getting revenge on clergy because he wasn't accepted into seminary.
Or maybe, just maybe, in both cases is he simply exercising a Constitutionally-protected civil right?

It is interesting and odd that LET or 'Robert' has so much more activity on FB (defaced) than their site. There are only two comments on Roberts question ATM on LET.

I can tell them at least One reason I carry doesn't apply. I don't carry a weapon for the same reason Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank carries, "... a law enforcement officer openly carries a weapon for its "intimidation factor. In law enforcement, that’s the message you send."
Unlike the Chief, I'm not out to intimidate the public, and that's Not the message I want to send.

Some have the belief that BADGE + GUN = GOD.

Too bad really...
