IWB, switching from CC to OC before entering DMV - issues?

Sorry - need to clarify - at DMV Obviously I can switch CC to OC anytime I want... I just want to stay armed at the DMV if I'm legally able to :)

If I'm CCing during work hours to avoid any work complications or issues, and I need to go renew my license during the day... If i just tuck my cover garment in behind the IWB holster before exiting my vehicle, that is sufficient to be fully and properly OCed, but would this cause more concerns than carrying completely OWB?

We're talking about the DMV here, so I know we've established I'm good to go there, right?

Thanks.

I've never had any issue at the DMV with an IWB. As long as the firearm can be discernable from ordinary observation, you are good to go.

Thanks for the input. I think I remember reading something about the dmv on Donovan in NLV not being very enlightened on the allowance of OC - is this still true? I heard that location is much faster for basic things it does since everybody thinks it's only for truck drivers & related permitting/licensing (not true) so it's typically busy.

What you describe is called the Virginia Tuck as it is common enough there for similar reasons.

It's perfectly legal. I think it draws attention more, but it's not illegal.

Don't forget that if you notice that any entrance is not posted, you can carry concealed regardless of the posting at the entrance you actually use. So if you prefer concealed, drive around the building first. You might get lucky.

I actually went open carry last weekend for the first time and did like it! I just can't open carry at work, and don't care to go to the dmv on a Saturday with my oc holster and weapon as it is utter mayhem

I've been there as well, as it is much closer to Nellis AFB. Never had a problem.
