This morning the House State Affairs Committee listened to testimony for and against the Campus Concealed Carry Bill. The testimony took the entire scheduled meeting and will continue tomorrow morning at 7:45. They will continue with testimony and put it up for a vote, and continue with the rest of the docket. I missed the initial reading and testimony by Rep. Simpson but caught some good testimony for it by a wide range of individuals, who supported the bill with facts. The few who opposed the bill only brought emotion and fear and had no facts to support their views. I have a good feeling that this will get out of committee and be brought to the floor soon.

Now if we can get the Senate State Affairs Committee to bring S1126 (Permitless Carry) to the table and get that ball rolling. I urge everyone to keep in contact with their reps. and the reps. on these two committee's.

I would like to thank everyone who has made phone calls and sent emails.

Thank You

Update 3/10/2011 10:21 a.m.

Testimony concluded this morning and passed committee with a 11 to 8 vote, HB222 with be sent to the floor.
Its good to see this making it passed committee but still needs a lot of support to make it through the House and Senate. Hopefully this paves the way for Senate Bill 1126.

That's what I'm talkin' about! With this kind of momentum, I doubt the Senate will shoot it down! (knocks on wood)

especially considering the Senate introduced SB1126: Legalize Permitless Concealed Carry

Granted, that's been in the "introduction" phase for almost a month now, but still, it's reassuring!

I hope people in these districts are paying attention-- these are the kinds of people that will keep extending the Patriot Act and eventually force vaccines on our children, all under the mantra of 'good for the children'

Update 3/25/2011

Bill was killed in the Senate State Affairs Committee this morning. What a bunch of BULLS**T.

Apparently it is being held for amendments.....so still alive for now.
