There are already a couple hundred comments on the Salon piece. Some of them are the predictable emotional
& unfounded anti nonsense, with the supportive comments being generally well-written & reasoned.

I commended her for assessing the situation rationally & doing what she needed to do to protect herself,
despite her stated prior aversion to safety equipment. Also suggested some real training...
