Okay......

I intend to use whatever level of force "I" choose in response to ANY and ALL crimes against my person, my family, and my property..... within what is acceptable for MY part of the world.

That includes blunt instruments, chemical agents, electrical devices, firearms, animals, tools, farm machinery, or whatever else may be handy or available to me.

And I "intend" to use the above to limit, stop, prevent, dissuade, intimidate, scare, mitigate, detain, apprehend, or to any other result which negates me and mine from living life in fear of people who may have intentions other than honorable ones.

(lemme know if I wasn't clear enough)

And since it is 100% LEGAL to protect my person/family/neighbors/PROPERTY, I do not fear reprisal by LEO's like in less civilized places.

But this is now so far off the OP that we can definitely say we know the meaning of "thread drift", so i will end it here and just shake my head at the way some people think and act.

The fact that you think threatening someone with your gun until they cry and crap their pants is a form of self defense tells me everything i need to know. You dont want to defend yourself or your family, you want to be a bad ass waving around a couple pounds of death so everyone will look at you differently.

I merely pointed out the natural conclusion based upon the post you replied to and the reply you posted. The criticism was of what you said and did, not of you.

If one so closely associates his identity with a single action or a single set of words that he finds criticism of them to be criticism of him, that is his choice. I won't stop pointing out things that folks say and do that are worthy of criticism simply because they might interpret that as criticism of their person.

Would that everyone limited criticism to specific words and actions and avoid making statements about the person or sweeping generalizations about all they do.

No winners. No losers. Just, we hope, rational back and forth or, when that becomes impossible, moving on.

No kiddin'! There is no way to quantify criminal acts or events that didn't occur due to the deterrence (observable presence) of an OC LAC. However... since no such acts occurred in the presence of this particular LAC, it's enough empirical data (which the anti-s so love to complile) to claim that such acts were prevented during the time/place 'n presence of the LAC by observation of his weapon by those who otherwise would have committed such acts had the LAC not been present.

As for me, I kind of agree with the OP. Maybe it might be a good idea for some to start throwing some of the logic used by the Brady Bunch back at them. But that is just me.

Yes i do believe you are extremely mistaken. Why would you think that theres "no such things" as telephone booths? You live on planet earth right?
