I believe I am responsible for a no gun sign being installed......

Stopped at the Care Partner around the corner from my house. There is no No Gun sign on this one. While I was looking one of the workers came out and asked me if she could help me. Briefly explained what I was looking for. She knew nothing of it, but said she would assume the same thing and also that her Dad always carried. I was concealed to to the weather requiring a large jacket.

Not sure, next step. Wife says forget it, don’t make a stink. I’d like to at least know, and make them admit if it was due to me. It’s a private facility, so they can do as they wish and I see no real expectation of me getting them to reverse, but of course with out talking that would not happen for sure.
A good rule of thumb is to never raise the question unless there is no other choice - it's like demanding a sign.

You and I must be on completely different wavelengths in the writing, reading, and comprehension departments......

So, I open carried into here, with no sign for over a year. The sign now shows up with no mention to me of anything. You say the best rule of thumb is to never raise the question. The sign is THERE!!!!

What now? Am I at the point of no other choice yet?

Maybe you’re talking about the place today, without the sign?

It's not that hard to be always be armed.

Some of us don't fly, have no need to go where metal detectors are set up and simply don't go where being armed would land one in jail for simply entering.

In my state fortunately I cant think of anyplace short some Federal places that the law plainly states denied entry or asked to leave is all that's possible 9f one leaves when asked. Sign or no sign.

As to the OP, good for you for taking responsibility for your own safety. I doubt the sign was put up just because of you.

Had a conversation with the manager of the local Care Partner housing here in my town, (Abbotsford)and formerly also the manager of the Medford facility, but not currently. This was last night. I’m getting conflicting, untrue information, possibly honestly unknowing? Woman is on the local Chamber Board of Directors, along with my wife. I may very well be getting into the area of talking about the signs gets the signs, but the sign is up already at the facility I enter. (Before I ever mentioned anything about a sign)

So, manager says the local Abbotsford facilities she manages HAS a sign . This is untrue. No sign yesterday, and again today I stopped and looked, no sign. I don’t “really” care, I don’t go in here.

Manager says there has ALWAYS been a sign in Medford, where father in-law is.
This is ALSO NOT true. I’ve been going in there almost every Sunday for a year and a half, and I know for a fact the sign showed up 4 weeks ago now, BEFORE the standoff down the block. As I mentioned, I also had several conversations with employees who said no problem, we are not posted, when I was in and out OC.

Possible presented scenario is sign is in window and when opened, sign fell out and under a chair where it has been for a while. Problem with this is the windows open out, not in, not to mention poor cleaning practices........

So, at this point I suppose the next step would be to call Coporate. I suspect that would only accomplish getting signs up at all their other facilities where they are “probably” not now either. They are a private facility and can do as they wish. My options seem to be either disarm, conceal illegally, or not enter. During all this, wife is not onboard with continuing to pursue. That probably means as much or more than anything.

Open to ideas that pertain to Wisconsin, not so much other states.

This is a legal challenge that many/most of us will be facing soon enough. What rights will we have to surrender when we require ‘assisted living’?
Tell me about it. Every week goes by faster and faster. Being retired over 6 years you would think time would slow down, it doesn't. And it doesn't help to loose two of my friends my age bite the dust within two weeks of each other.

My biggest concern is finding young people that want to learn their rights and carry on the fight.
