I'm completely ignorant to the laws pertaining to landlord/tenant in regards to hunting.

Currently looking at a house in Amelia on 7 acres, but management company says they don't allow hunting on the property even though I would have access to all 7 acres. Also says they don't allow pit bulls???!??

So a house in the middle of nowhere with virtually no neighbors and they are concerned with a dog breed and no hunting? If no hunting is not included in the lease, how's that work legally?

if the restrictions are clearly defined in the lease/rental agreement, what is there to ponder.. It seems obvious and straight forward and easy enough for a lay person to comprehend... No complicated legalese, no hunting, and no pit bulls..

Good luck.

Yeah pointless thread I suppose. Probably should have put it in general discussion. Not illegal to hunt but illegal to breach a contract, irrelevant to OC, etc.

Haven't posted much lately. Looking for a new place to live in 2 months, thinking about getting out of the city. I love Amelia Court House but it's a little too far I think. I guess it may be impossible to find a house for rent at a cheap rate that's on land and allows hunting.

Seems to me the landlord could evict me and then sue me for the balance of the lease for breaching the agreement. I wouldn't be worried about being arrested for a crime, just losing the place to live and owing money.

Either way, for those who don't know about the different counties in Virginia, Amelia is quite rural and actually has zero additional gun regulations or local ordinances, and hunting is also on the "almost non-existant" end of the scale as far as special regulations go.

You are definitely right about Amelia county. I would not want to live anywhere else. One of the best things I've seen here is the attitude of the county teens. I have never seen any teenagers anywhere that are more respectful.

OUTSTANDING, A true testament to their parents and their upbringing, we need more respectful teens/people in the country.

I'll be actively searching for a place to hunt in Amelia this year, methinks.
