Basically-re registration of firearms-out

Bringing your firearm to MPD for registtrration-out

Taking a test on DC firearms laws-out.

One gun registration a month-out

not great but better than nothing.

Any links for the English version? :p

That funny.

Learn to read legalese.

TL/DR - part of DCs laws were upheld and parts were not. Sent back to the District Court to sort out in accordance with the SCOTUS opinion - which go read.

stay safe.

Nothing was remanded back to the DC. This is a final ruling. All DC can do is ask for an En Banc panel and if denied ask SCOTUS for CERT as I read the ruling.

I talked to an appellate attorney who practices in DC and he said the DC Circuit rarely grants en banc requests.

waiting and watching.

You are more correct than I was.

But my excuse is I have been cramming for my sleep study tonight.

stay safe.

Now if only they were like KY: reciprocity with all states, signs do not carry weight of law, and open carry without a license. I spent 4 days here and not having my gun was quite aggrevating.

A victory because let's face it, most other judges (including the dissent) will say anything short of a total ban is permissible.

This may also be helpful because Wrenn is bound by it (unless it's overturned), and this opinion states that a law designed to limit the numbers of firearms is impermissible. The same should be said when it relates to public carry, unless they're going to try to confine it to the home (split with Moore) or say CCW isn't protected and open themselves to OC. But since none of the briefings from DC are taking that position it would seem unlikely for a court to go that way. But who knows, if Judge Henderson is on the panel, she'll definitely try something to bury the 2A where it stands.

That is one (small) step towards freedom in the District. As always, keeping my fingers crossed that things continue to improve.

Thanks for keeping us posted, swinokur.
