I MAY have to bow out if it's on the 12th, It's my Bday and I promised the kids I would take them to the big lake. Perhaps I could come for a short time and then go. The 19th I could do, though.

Thanks Steve - mighty kind & generous of you. I just noticed this possible event - can't say I'm IN yet, as thisJuly is crazy-hectic for me, but keeping an eye on it.

Check with park rules. In Traverse City you have to have fire insurance if you use a large grill like that. More of the man trying to keep us down.

Well, since it seems to better accommodate people. lets call it the 26th.

Now we just have to decide on a park. I'm thinking Riverside, but am open to suggestions, and am still waiting to hear Blackwater respond about being the organizer.

Blackwater is just being lazy. I talked to him and he wanted to do it if I would help do it too. As far as the park goes riverside is a great park and I would be all for going there any time.

Great, and thanks. There really isn't much to do. We just need someone who is willing to contact the press, and talk to them when they come, and someone to get there early to reserve a spot (I'm thinking the picnic tables by the playground equipment would be a good spot. Trees for shade, about four or five tables, and highly visible to foot traffic).

Other than that, there really isn't much to do. SpringerXDacp already posted it in the events thread, so we just need people to sign up and bring stuff for grilling.

The new date should work for me as well, as long as I don't have to work or something unplanned comes up.

I see we still need grill and other things. I can say for sure what I can bring the week before the picnic, but I have a charcoal grill I can bring or even be picked up if I can't make it. I will also try to get food items.

Current'y I am 90% planning on being there. :p
