Hey folks. I just recently moved back from California, and it feels good to be able to OC with ease. CA OC is quite difficult (it has to be unloaded, police officers can check your weapon to verify that it's unloaded without permission, etc etc.)

Anyhow, since being back in Boulder for the last couple of weeks, I've OCed just about everywhere. So far, I've had 0 comments from the general public. I carry a full size 1911 in a belt holster and I've been quite aware that many folks have seen/stared--but so far no comments. I've not had any interaction with Boulder PD or CUPD, so I'm still looking forward to that experience.

I just wanted to say a quick hello. I know there's some other folks that OC here in Boulder, and if any of you wanted to get together for lunch or some kind of meetup, I'm all for it. The more of us out there, the more folks will start to understand, or at least be aware.

Welcome back to CO and welcome to the forums!
So I gotta ask, whats the point of carrying for personal protection if it's required to be unloaded?!?!?!?:?
There's quite a few CO folks here on the forum. Enough to have a get together for lunch/dinner, or range time.

Well, I carry the loaded magazines on my belt, so I have to draw the weapon, insert the magazine, rack the slide (or put the slide into battery if carried with the slide locked back) and fire. Clearly not ideal, but also, better than nothing. And I think some of us Californians understand that it's quite a bit to do activism. To clarify, it must be unloaded within incorporated city limits. In open country, it can be carried loaded, but with quite a few restrictions as well. If you would like to learn more, visit the CA forum (it's not for the weak of heart).

Good to know there's a good community here.

It's great to have another OCer here in Boulder! I just got back to Colorado today after about a month out of state, and with the bad weather today I haven't OC'ed yet. But with the weekend looking much better than today, I've got to break in my new SAA rig... if you want to do an OC night here in town, my fiancée will surely be game for it as well!

Did you have something in mind for this evening?

Edit: Silly me, I think you meant this weekend.
