Well, now we know the real reason they hate this gun store... With a gun store nearby, they can no longer make realistic-sounding SWAT calls on open carriers!

McLean Citizens Association orders study of gun store next to school

"At the meeting, parents raised concerns that the store's presence would make it harder for staff at the school to differentiate between dangerous people approaching the school and gun buyers carrying their firearms openly to and from the store.

"Prior to the gun store being there if you saw someone with a gun you'd be able to assess that threat much easier," said Matt Lampy, the father of a Franklin Sherman fourth grader.

BGs don't OC - it is bad for their business. People CCing into the store would not be recognized as carrying.

It's not like they would be wandering about school property or trying to gain entrance to the school, so there is no problem.......other than facts trump the fiction/lies of the antis.

Wonder how many guns that they can't see go by that school or drop kids off on a daily basis. If they knew, they'd probably get a case of the vapors.

But at what consequence? Do the people care? Or will they elect a corrupt politician anyway?

FOIA: Fairfax Supervisor John Foust and Allies Caught Engineering Gun Store Controversy

As this story unfolds, new information has come to light detailing how an engineered campaign to create controversy for political gain has derailed efforts to broker compromise, ultimately backfiring on the politicians who raced to exploit the situation.

Among the chief offenders is incumbent Democratic Supervisor John Foust, whose Dranesville district includes the gun store at the center of the controversy. Despite knowing the store was in compliance with the law before it opened, Foust chose to politicize the issue in an effort to drive up voter turnout in an off-year election while smearing his opponent with false attacks.

Prior to Foust and his allies polluting the public discourse with their partisan politics, the store owners had been willing to work with community groups such as the McLean Citizens Association on finding a mutually-agreeable new location. Now, thanks to Foust and his allies, the store has no plans to move, and no plans to engage with the politicians using them as political scapegoats.

VA-ALERT: FOIA: Anti-gun Senators Murphy and Favola schemed to go after NOVA Firearms

From VA-ALERT:

It turns out that anti-gun Northern Virginia State Senators Kathleen Murphy and Barbara Favola and Fairfax County Supervisor John Foust conspired to attack NOVA Firearms for purely political reasons, based on some emails that were just released because of a Freedom of Information Act request. They used the gun store being close to a school as an excuse for the attack in order to activate Foust’s voting base, fully knowing that the gun store is a legal business and had done absolutely nothing wrong when it moved to its new location. Foust knew about the move in advance and didn’t say a thing at the time. Not until he saw a political opportunity.

Favola admits in the emails that she was behind pressuring the Arlington landlord to break the NOVA Firearms lease earlier this year.

To show who we are dealing with, Favola didn’t even realize that NOVA Firearms is the store that tried to move to Arlington and is now located by the school in McLean! This shows she did no research before blocking the NOVA Firearms's move to Arlington.

The irony is that Favola chased the gun store out of Arlington when it wasn’t anywhere near a school and now she wants to chase it away again because it IS near a school! It’s near a school because of you, Senator Favola!

The truth is that NOVA Firearm will be attacked wherever they move in the area. Favola, Murphy, and Foust, through their combined stupidity, bigotry, and vitriol, have now cemented NOVA Firearms's position to stay put, when NOVA Firearms was originally willing to consider possibly moving. In short Murphy, Favola, and Foust are trying to blame NOVA Firearms for something foolish that the three of them did: politicizing the situation and villainizing NOVA Firearms.

In the email, Senator Murphy writes to Favola:

“In McLean we have a gun shop opening right near Franklin Sherman Grade School. I think we should notify parents.” [PVC: So Murphy wants to stir up a situation where there was no issue before.]

-

Senator Favola responds to Murphy:

“Can we meet with some activities and small business owners nearby — I was able to help ‘stop’ a gun shop from moving to Arlington.

"Basically, we convinced the land owner that his business tenants would lose business. In other words moving a gun store to a small cluster of shops in the middle of a neighborhood was bad for business. [PVC: Here Favola is gleeful and proud that she lied to the landlord about losing business, when the opposite would have been true.]

"The argument has to be about supporting small businesses. The ‘we’ versus ‘they’ argument is now winable with the NRA.” [PVC: They want to use the guise that they are "simply concerned with supporting small businesses," when in fact all they want to do is drive gun stores away and will stoop as low as necessary to achieve that goal.]

-

What Favola, Murphy, and Foust have done is despicable and an abuse of power. None of them deserve to be in government.

If reelected, I can pretty much guarantee that Favola and Murphy will put in bills to allow localities to control where gun stores can be located.

One final thing - the opposition to NOVA Firearms moving to either Arlington or McLean was not a grassroots movement at all. It was driven artificially by Favola and a few other people to LOOK like it was grassroots. The fake “grassroots” protests are a tactic that Bloomberg’s Everytown and the Demanding Moms have used before.

Reminder: Election Day is next Tuesday, November 3rd.

Here’s the article about the emails. This is a partisan write up, but the emails speak for themselves. Stay tuned, I don’t think this is going to be the end of the story:
