So i have been cruising the State Statues, and I think they pulled the open carry clause that allowed persons, with or without CCW, to open carry while hunting, fishing, or camping right from under us. Can anyone verify this either in the negative or affirmative?

Have not seen anything that would indicate action as to make OC illegal in these circumstances in Florida.

790.25 Lawful ownership, possession, and use of firearms and other weapons.—
1) DECLARATION OF POLICY.—The Legislature finds as a matter of public policy and fact that it is necessary to promote firearms safety and to curb and prevent the use of firearms and other weapons in crime and by incompetent persons without prohibiting the lawful use in defense of life, home, and property, and the use by United States or state military organizations, and as otherwise now authorized by law, including the right to use and own firearms for target practice and marksmanship on target practice ranges or other lawful places, and lawful hunting and other lawful purposes.
(h) A person engaged in fishing, camping, or lawful hunting or going to or returning from a fishing, camping, or lawful hunting expedition;

Who is "they" and why do you "think" they pulled the clause?

Nope. Just pulled it up in the 2017 Florida Statutes.

790.25(3)(h) and 790.25(3)(j)

I've been open carrying in Florida for the last 7 years with very few problems, ALL of which were taken care of in a few minutes with me continuing on my way still open carrying.

The statute is in black and white. Use it.

How do you suppose that a "clause" in a state law gets "pulled"? I don't even know what that could possibly mean. Does it mean that "they" have "disappeared" the printed words right out of all the public records or does it mean that "they" have removed it from everyone's collective memory? How could either of those things be done and who could/would do it? Do you suspect that there are people that can just change state laws to make them read anything they want them to read, in secret?
