Hi,
I am having an argument with my employer. I work for as professional firework display company. We do the large arial firework diplays, the ones that the cities use for the 4th of July.

There is no federal law prohibiting the carry of a concealed weapon on a shooting site and in fact many other companies and states even require teh carry of a firearm do the the volitile aspect of the explossives. (Terrorists wanting fireworks for bomb making)

My employer has informed me that Idaho has outlawed this practice. I have searched and searched Idaho code and can find no such law/code.

Can anyone verify this and provide a source?

Thanks
-Kevin

It sounds absolutely ridiculous. Ask him to show you the law.

This is like someone claiming the Bible says something. Instead of them showing you the scripture, they expect you to read the entire thing to prove them wrong. And then they say: "Oh you must have missed it, try again."

I've worked with a fireworks company here, but of course; that's irrelevant to Idaho law.

Kevin,

Of the considerable research I do regarding all firearm-related laws within the State of Idaho, of which includes district, city, county, and federal, I am not aware of any Idaho state, county or city law, ordinance, or rule outlawing a person from carrying a firearm while they work with or carry fireworks / explosives.

Whether your employer permits you to carry while "on the job", that's their lawful prerogative.
Though, you are well to inform your employer of the "terrorist" angle, including getting a "thumbs-up" (approval) from a local police or county of that of your carrying while transporting/working with such "explosives". Either that, or note to your employer you'd feel compelled to "inform" the local authorities for the sake of them providing security, which may come at a cost to your employer for such security services being provided.

Here are some statutes which may have made your employer think such:
http://legislature.idaho.gov/idstat/Title50/T50CH3SECT50-310.htm
http://legislature.idaho.gov/idstat/Title18/T18CH33SECT18-3311.htm
http://legislature.idaho.gov/idstat/Title18/T18CH33SECT18-3308.htm

In fact, this statute is in your favor, if you are licensed as such:

Thanks to all of you for your response.

This was pretty much the answers I expected. I do a fair amount of research into gun laws myself and this seemed ridiculous myself.

I appreciate the information.

Thanks again
