Some farmers market attendees in Alexandria, Virginia, were angered by the sight of open carry demonstrators on Saturday.
The supporters, who were part of “The Right to Bear Arms Richmond,” openly carried rifles and handguns at the market.

According to Fox 5, open carry supporter Brandon Howard said, “This is what it’s all about. Educating people and exercising our constitutional right without fear to do so. There is no right if you have to be fearful to exercise your right to do so.”

Even though open carry is legal in Virginia, Howard said he and the other members of the group contacted police before attending the market.

Nevertheless, one Alexandria community member said, “I was afraid. You don’t know what they were going to do. You don’t know if they were insane or out of their mind.”

Blue Virginia reported that one market attendee expressed his anger at the open carriers and yet another noted how “upset” other attendees were.

Snippppp....;

Humm AP, a Virginia group OC’d their handguns an long guns Richmond Farmers market pertains to NC sub-forum how?

Interestingly, one of the founders of “ The Right to Bear Arms Richmond” is running for a council seat and it appears it could have all political stunt to get in their name in the news...as is his offer to, quote “I am randomly gifting this Diamond Back AR 15 to one of my supports. The first 200 supports who donate $25.00 or more to my Campaign will qualify to be gifted...” https://www.facebook.com/righttobeararmsrva

Wow i thought gerrymandering was shady...now a candidate is bribing constituents to contribute to his campaign with an AR...

Wait AP, while fasinating to read about VA political activities, again how does this apply to NC?

NC and VA are tied at the belt and what affects one state affects both states as citizens of both states cross state lines daily to work, shop, recreate and to obtain healthcare. NC citizens will be affected by the event in VA should Farmers Market decide to join the other retailers banning Open Carry because their customers were scared and offended.

I personally spend a lot of time in VA for shopping and healthcare. I bring a significant amount of revenue to their state. What happens in VA will impact my life.

Your article is interesting. I wonder what he is teaching in his "Right to keep and bear arms." Not all who walk, walk upright.

Part of the issue with OCing of long guns is how the person is carrying the long gun, which to some can cause warranting alarm.

Those "some " folks obviously are NOT alarmed.

An alarmed person doesn't confront the person or people alarming them.

All kabuki theatre by anti RTKABA morons, to make a non existent point.
